My Review:

As the second book in The Sterling Family Series, Phillips delivers a steamy second chance romance in Just One More Dare. This forbidden sports romance between a runaway bride and a retired football player will leave you rooting for the characters until the very end!

The last thing Samantha Dare wanted on her wedding day is to find out that her fiancée is not only cheating on her, but has also been manipulating her all along to get to her trust fund. As the youngest Dare in the family, Samantha is afraid of what her older siblings are going to think about her. Everyone around her saw red flags when it came to Jeremy, expect her. Now Samantha has to rush out of her wedding in her white dress and into the arms of the man she hasn’t seen a while. A man that gave her the best new year’s eve kiss all those years ago and he is willing to whisk her away. Dex Sterling is nothing like her ex, he has shown compassion toward her and her newfound situation. She is aware that she shouldn’t be developing feelings for another man so quickly, yet it’s hard to not to fall in love with her brother’s best friend. They are both off-limits to each other, but Samatha is willing to risk her heart to be with him.

Since retiring from football this past season, as the quarterback for the Miami Thunder, Dex Sterling is in New York to start the next chapter in his career. Though he wasn’t expecting to almost literally run over the woman that got away all those years ago, in a wedding dress rushing out of her wedding venue toward him. It only takes one look at Samatha Dare to know that she needs his help and he is willing to whisk her away. It’s been a while since he last saw her and this is his chance to reconnect with her. So when she asks him to take her to the airport to go on her honeymoon alone, Dex is all but willing to go with her. Neither of them the close proximity to bring them closer than ever. As the upcoming lead analyst at Football Sports Network, he can’t be involved in any scandal, yet Dex never imagined to have to make a choice between his career and the woman he is growing to love.

I thoroughly loved reading Just One More Dare, Phillips packs a lot when it comes to her stories and this was no different. There is steam, suspense and drama to keep you at the edge of your seat. It’s evident that both of the characters have experienced a lot in their lives and they are able to rely on each other. Dex quickly becomes protective toward Samantha and she feels empowered to start a new life with him. But the past comes back to haunt them and they have to lean on each other in order to get their happily-ever-after. I loved to see their interactions with each other’s families and the ending was sweet. I would highly recommend checking out this book and the rest of the series! :)
