🔖 BLOG TOUR 🔖 The High Priestess by Michelle Heard {REVIEW}

The High Priestess by Michelle Heard

Release Date: April 10, 2025
Pages: 263
Genres: Romance, Mafia, Contemporary

From USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling author Michelle Heard comes a new STANDALONE, full-length MAFIA ROMANCE novel.

As the eldest daughter of Ilias Dimitrou, I’m next in line to become the head of the Greek mafia. I’m getting good at putting on an act while I learn everything I need to know about the organization, but behind closed doors, I’m terrified. If my father’s men catch a whiff of my fear, they’ll rip me apart.

Before I’m able to take over from my father, we’re attacked. I have to depend on my newly formed alliance to come to the rescue while I fight with every ounce of strength in my body to stay alive.

Barely surviving when my entire family is slaughtered, I end up being guarded by Lincoln Knight. For some reason, the damaged sniper refuses to leave my side, and I find myself becoming more and more dependent on him. He follows me like a deadly shadow, and I’m well aware of the fact that he’s the only person standing between me and certain death.

When I take my rightful place as the head of the Greek mafia, can I conquer my fears and become the strong leader I was born to be?

My Review:

If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would, The High Priestess has proven to be one of my favorite books of the year. Heard delivers a captivating mafia romance that had me swooning and rooting for the characters until the end. A must-read!

At the beginning of the story we are introduced to Cassia Dimitrou, heir to become the head of the Greek mafia. At twenty-eight years old, Cassia has been training and shadowing her dad for the past year. But even though to some she might be making progress in her training, to her everything that she’s had to endure has only solidified the fact that Cassia is afraid. Every time she has to deal with killers and criminals, there is a part of her that wonders if she’ll ever be a good leader. It doesn’t help that her stubborn father doesn’t want to retire, so she’s left with dealing with the alliance that he formed with other mafia leaders.

Up to this point Cassia has been able to convince them that she is a force to be reckoned with. Yet, her dad wants nothing to do with them now, all while provoking their enemy, the Bravta. When the Russian mafia attacks them by surprise, she is forced to see her family killed in front of her eyes. She didn’t think she was going to make it. Until a mysterious stranger saves her and takes her back to safety. Apprehensive and a little scared of him at first, Cassia thinks that Knight is going to turn on her. Little does she know how much the tortured stranger would end up changing the course of her life. The more time they spend together, the harder it becomes for her to not develop strong feelings for her bodyguard. The bodyguard who promises to protect her with his own life, all while helping her get her throne back.

Lincoln Knight is not afraid to kill, not after what he’s seen over the years. His time as a Navy Seal came to an abrupt end when he lost his sister. And it was the way he lost her that made him want to avenge her death. Aligning himself with the mafia by chance gave him more reasons to use his skills as a sniper. He was too late in saving his sister and he promises to not repeat the same mistake. So does his best to protect Cassia, she begs him to save her sister and that’s his undoing. It touches him that she wants to give her life for her sister and Knight recalls his own lose. It’s not easy to get her to agree to let him be her bodyguard, but eventually she gives in. Knight seems to be the only one to see through Cassia and the lack of confidence that she has. Yet, underneath all of that he sees a fierce leader and he vows to protect her with his life. Not realizing that she would manage to break down the walls around his heart.

I absolutely loved reading The Hight Priestess, it’s by far the best in the series. There is so much depth when it comes to the characters and their stories. They have lost so much and they are able to rely on each other for support. Although Cassia has always known that she would one day take over her dad, she can’t help to feel like a disappointment to her parents. She doesn’t think she is capable of being the cold hearted leader that she is expected to be in order to run the Greek mafia. It takes a lot to run an old-schooled organization and they will not take kindly or respect her if she shows fear. But having Knight with her gives Cassia a renew purpose and she has a lot to grow within herself to change the organization. Knight was the tortured hero in the story, everyone needs a Knight in their lives. He is protective when it comes to Cassia and he too has a lot to change, especially over his guilt for not being there to protect his own sister. This book has everything you can think of, from action to a full on sizzling romance that had me emotional at the end. I would highly recommend it, cannot wait to read more from the author in the future! :)

🔖 REVIEW BLITZ 🔖 Just a Little Crush by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde

Just a Little Crush by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde

Release Date: April 15, 2025
Pages: 208
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

It’s just a little crush. What could possibly go wrong?

I’ve had more than enough relationship drama to last a lifetime, so romance with Stevie Palmer, the gorgeous server I had a hot one-night stand with, isn’t in the cards. However, she would make the perfect fake girlfriend to help me win my custody battle.

When I offer her an obscene amount of money to play along, she agrees. I insist this arrangement is strictly business. No feelings. No complications.

Easy, right?

Except nothing about Stevie is easy. She’s unexpected softness, stubborn as hell, and impossible to ignore. I tell myself I can keep my hands off of her. That I can ignore the way she makes me feel. Then one kiss turns into another. One night into more. And suddenly, our perfect little arrangement is anything but simple or straight forward.

With so much at stake, can I turn our fake relationship into a real happily ever after?

My Review:

I loved the authors’ previous collaboration in the Dare Crossover, so I was excited to read their new series together. Needless to say, as the first book in the Sterling Family Crossover, Just a Little Crush does not disappoint at all. Phillips and Wilde deliver a sweet second chance romance between a real estate mogul and a server that will leave you wanting for more!

For Stevie Palmer, working at The Black Door and interning at Dare PR all while getting her degree in marketing keeps her busy these days. Ever since moving from Connecticut to New York three years ago, she’s been working really hard to better her life and of her sister’s who just got out of an abusive relationship. Stevie’s job now is to make sure to provide for them and hoping to get a full-time job at the marketing firm. While attention her best friend’s birthday, Stevie bumps into her friend’s brother, Caleb Sterling.

Having met at The Black Door a year ago, they’ve always been cordial with each other, but there is something about Caleb that keeps pulling her closer. It’s when they cross the line of no return that their lives truly change forever. Caleb has a proposition for her, one that will change the course of their lives as she pretends to be his girlfriend in order for him to get custody of his son. Neither of them expected their feelings for one another to grow so much, it’s clear that she is out of his league and Stevie starts to question of their future together. All while Caleb is doing everything he can to make sure he keeps her for good.

I truly loved reading this book, it’s such a great start to the series! Their chemistry is sizzling and we can see that from the very beginning. It’s evident that Stevie fears not being good enough for Caleb, they come from two different worlds. His life as a wealthy real estate mogul attracts the wrong attention and Caleb has worked really hard to make a name for himself away from his prestigious family. The custody battle that he finds himself in is just prove that Caleb is willing to do anything for those he loves. He cares about Stevie and will do anything to prove that they might just be it for each other. All in all, I enjoyed their story and the ending, it fit the characters really well. I would highly recommend it! :)

🔖 REVIEW BLITZ 🔖 Wicked Rivals by Kelliann Nelson

Wicked Rivals by Kelliann Nelson

Release Date: March 25, 2025
Pages: 320
Genres: Romance, Contemporary, Mafia

When he learns the truth about what I've done, he locks me up. Now I’m a prisoner to my past and my future.

I never should have slept with a mafia boss, but Stefano Vignali wanted me, his foul-mouthed little barista, and he wouldn’t take no for an answer.

Of course, it was all just a fairy tale that had to end, so when I realized I had feelings for this man, I sent back his extravagant gifts and cut ties.

I thought I could be free to live a normal life.
I believed I could hide our baby from him.
I was so wrong. None of my secrets were safe.

Now Stefano plans to punish me for every minute he missed with his son. God help me, it’s a debt I want to pay, because a dark, fiery attraction still burns between us.

But first he must make a deal with the devil. To save my life and protect our son, he must marry me. The catch? He’s contracted to another bride.

Breaking off his engagement is not an option. New York City would become a bloody war zone. And I would only be trading one monster for another.

Wicked Rivals is a fast-paced dark romance with enemies-to-lovers vibes and morally gray characters. Some scenes may be disturbing for sensitive readers. Please visit the author's website for content warnings. The story continues in book 2, Savage Enemy.

My Review:

Nelson’s debut mafia romance in Wicked Rivals is full of twists and turns to keep you reading until the very end.

At the beginning of the story we are introduced to Stefano Vignali, head of the Vignali crime family of New York. People in his line of business are always looking for power and no matter how much Stefano’s life has changed ever since he became the head of the family business, he has been given the chance to be the most powerful mafia boss in the East Coast. His arrange marriage to another mafia family should have secured the deal for the next generation, yet there won’t be an heir to his legacy if he can help it. Not after the way his own family was decimated by the Commission. His soon-to-be bride, Benedetta, will never be, Valerie Salera, the one that stole his heart over a decade ago. Especially after the way their relationship ended was enough to make Stefano not want to open his heart for someone else. Little does he know that his life is about to change the minute Stefano finds out that he fathered a son with the one that got away. Now it’s his mission to protect his son at all costs, even if it means convincing Valerie to marry him.

As the sole provider of her home, Valerie Salera, is also the protector when it comes to her son, Enzo. The world is not safe and she knows it, it’s full of organized crime like the mafia. It’s been ten years since she last saw Stefano, the man that was her world only to have been blindsided by his true identity that made her break things off with him. Only to discover that she was carrying his child that made her overprotective of her son. Stefano wasn’t supposed to find out about his son, but he did and there are consequences for hiding the one thing he’s secretly wanted back when they were together. Valerie has robbed Stefano from being a father to Enzo and now that their lives are being threatened she has no choice but to put their lives in his hands.

I really enjoyed reading Wicked Rivals, it’s such a great start to the series. The mafia world that Nelson has started is sure to take off in the next book. This forbidden romance will definitely keep you on your toes and the cliffhanger at the end is shocking! I would highly recommend checking out this story, I cannot wait to read what happens next.

🔖 REVIEW BLITZ 🔖 The Girlfriend Zone by Lauren Blakely

The Girlfriend Zone by Lauren Blakely

Release Date: February 21, 2025
Pages: 512
Genres: Sports, Romance, Contemporary

In my defense, I had no idea the tattooed, glasses-wearing, soulful hottie I spent one perfect day—and one unforgettable night—with was a hockey star on my father’s team. And Miles didn’t know I was the coach’s daughter.

That’s the point of a “no-work-talk” date.

But now? He's as forbidden to me as I am to him.

When I land a new gig as the team photographer, we vow to keep it professional. We mostly succeed…except for that time after a game when he couldn’t keep his talented hands off me. And, okay, maybe that other time before a road trip. But I swear, it won’t happen again.

Too much is at stake—I can’t risk my heart or my father’s team.

But when I end up living at Miles’s place to care for his pack of rescue pups, the lines blur fast. Late nights turn into stolen moments and I discover there’s more to him than I ever imagined—a man who’s genuine, thoughtful, and irresistibly real.

He looks at me like he can’t believe his luck. Touches me like he never wants to let go. And listens to my hopes and fears.

My heart’s getting dangerously attached. But if I follow it… am I putting everyone’s dreams on the line?

Tropes: coach’s daughter, the one who got away, starts with a bang, second chance vibes, age gap, forbidden hockey romance, forced proximity, workplace romance

My Review:

What starts off as an unforgettable encounter turns into so much more between a hockey star and a photographer in Blakely’s latest release. The Girlfriend Zone is the fourth book in the Love and Hockey Series that will leave you swooning and rooting for the characters until the very end.

It’s pre-season for professional hockey player, Miles Falcon, which means no hockey practice yet and that he is able to help out at his grandmother’s cafe. But what he wasn’t expecting to meet is his future wife. Their banter is what gets Miles and he admires the stunning stranger’s sass and attitude. Miles is taken with her and vows to take her out on a date. His last relationship didn’t end the way he wanted to and being present is essential for him in order to make things work. When an opportunity presents itself to help out Leighton at her photo shoot, Miles is all in no realizing just how their moment together would change their lives forever. Yet, it’s when he finds out that she the coach’s daughter, Miles can’t risk his relationship with the only person that gave him another chance no matter how strongly he feels for her. It would ultimately be the universe to keep bringing them together. Now he has to fight for the love of his life before it's too late.

If there is anything that life has taught Leighton is to not depend on anyone, especially after going through ups and downs. That includes succeeding at her job as a photographer and the boudoir shoot that she has set up is important to her. But when her male model bails on her, Leighton is shocked when the grandson of the owner of the cafe is frequents shows up ready to help. Their chemistry was instant the minute they met and it’s clear that Miles has the power to bring down the walls around her. Until his hockey status pops up that has her rethinking about having a relationship with him. She can’t mess up with her dad’s reputation within the team and promises to walk away from Miles. Only to have life keep bringing them closer and as she gets to know him better, Leighton finds out just how thoughtful and caring he is towards her. He is like nothing she’s ever experienced and that alone makes her want him even more.

I throughly loved reading The Girlfriend Zone, Blakely has outdone herself with this release. The characters are sweet and the chemistry between them is off the charts. It’s evident from the beginning that they have a lot in common when it comes to their families and of the loved ones that have hurt them in the past. They are easily able to lean on each other all while developing feelings for one another. Miles has set the bar pretty high for other male protagonists, he goes all out for Leighton to make her feel cherished and loved. She keeps him on his toes and their banter is cute. There are sensitive topics in the book that Blakely does a great job describing and weaving into the story. All while giving us a good sense of humor from other characters and few Chihuahuas thrown in the mix. All in all, I would highly recommend checking out this story, you will not regret it!

{EXCERPT}

Leighton

“When I said you, I meant I want all of you,” I add. That’s clear enough, but just in case it wasn’t, I press my body even closer so I’m rubbing against the outline of his erection. Making my intentions crystal clear.

For a hot second, his eyes go glassy. His breath stutters. But then he gains control again.

“All of me?” he asks like it’s a question, even though it’s an amused me, as if he’s having too much fun with my words as he keeps one hand looped firmly around my waist. “How exactly do you want all of me?”

Oh my god. He’s toying with me.

I groan in mock frustration. “You want me to spell it out?”

“I do, Leighton,” he rasps out. “I really, really do.”

I roll my eyes, but it’s doing little to mask how turned on I am. “Fine—then here’s an opinion for you.” I pause, letting him hang there on my every word as I run a hand down his chest, over the buttons on his shirt. I lift my chin, look him in the eyes. “I want you to f*&k me hard. And a little rough.”

🔖 REVIEW BLITZ 🔖 Bottles & Blades by Elise Faber

Bottles & Blades by Elise Faber

Release Date: February 24, 2025
Pages: 307
Genres: Romance, Contemporary, Sports

I fell in love with a billionaire.
I just didn’t know it.

Jean-Michel Dubois is the owner of the professional hockey team, the Oakland Eagles, and established the world-renowned Oak Ridge Vineyards.

And…he’s fallen for me.

Me. The boring woman who spends her time studying, baking cookies, and nannying for an adorable little girl.

A relationship between us makes no sense—I’ve tried to make him see that.

But he’s a successful businessman for a reason.

He's ruthless and goes after what he wants.

And he’s decided…

That’s me.

Not having read any other books by the author before, I didn’t know what to expect. Needless to say, Faber is able to deliver a story that packs a punch right off the bat in Bottle & Blades. This steamy romance will leave you reading nonstop until the very end.

What starts off as a unique encounter between Tiff Hernandez and Jean-Michel Dubois, neither of them expected just how much their lives were about to change forever. Meeting the CEO of Titan Capital and owner of the professional hockey team, the Oakland Eagles, is intimidating for Tiff. But she is intrigued by his persona and attracted to him right away. It’s evident that they both have been through so much already that immediately makes Jean-Michel wanting to be Tiff’s protector. It’s her kindness that wins him over and it’s his ability to stand up for her that makes Tiff fall in love with him. Yet, it’s the same past that has come to haunt them down and they have to overcome those obstacles in order to be together.

All in all, I enjoyed the romance and a hint of suspense in the story that had me at the edge of my seat. This is also an age-gap romance and it was interesting to see the characters navigate that aspect of their relationship. Tiff’s backstory is touching and it shows her resilience for wanting to see world. I would highly recommend checking out the book. I’m intrigued to see where the story leads to the next book in the series!

🔖 REVIEW BLITZ 🔖 Playing Mr. Perfect by Melissa Foster

Playing Mr. Perfect by Melissa Foster

Release Date: February 12, 2025
Pages: 404
Genres: Romance, Contemporary, Sports

Quarterback Clay "Mr. Perfect" Braden is determined to show sexy scientist Pepper Montgomery the benefits of hands-on research in PLAYING MR. PERFECT, the first book in the Bradens at Ridgeport series by New York Times and Wall Street Journalbestselling author Melissa Foster. Loaded with heat, humor, and heart, this steamy, small-town, opposites-attract standalone romance is unputdownable. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a happily ever after that will leave you breathless.

What happens in Paris, stays in Paris, right?
Oh, Pepper. If only...

Okay, I admit it.

Sleeping with the NFL quarterback who the media has dubbed Mr. Perfect might not have been the smartest move, but I’m in the City of Love, I’d had a few drinks, and was jacked up on giddy girl talk and hopeful hearts—two things I never buy into—and I threw caution to the wind.

I want to sneak out before he wakes up, but when I open my eyes, he’s already up.

In more ways than one.

Convincing the ridiculously cocky (pun intended) man that I’m not the woman he slept with last night is awkward.

Actually, he makes it impossible.

The thing is, I don’t even know who that woman was.

And now he’s determined to find out.

My Review:

As the first book in The Bradens at Bridgeport Series, Foster delivers a sizzling sports romance in Playing Mr. Perfect. This opposites-attract story about a pro football player and a scientist, will leave you swooning and rooting for the characters until the very end!

For Pepper Montgomery, her life has always been about being in control. After all, as a scientist and owner of a research and development company, her busy schedule doesn’t allow her to have some free time. So when her twin and lead singer is on tour in Paris, her siblings all gather to support Sable. Work won’t stop because she is on vacation, until they all bump into Clay Braden. He is everything Pepper has been trying to avoid her whole life, not only is he extremely good looking and charismatic, Clay is also a magnet when it comes to women. The media has dubbed him, Mr. Perfect and she wants nothing to do with being on the spotlight. She has worked really hard to earn the serious reputation that she has and won’t let a football player whisk her off her feet. Little does she know that Clay would do just that and so much more, now she risks losing her heart in the process.

As the star quarterback for the New York Giants, Clay Branden, has the looks and wealth to get just about any woman he could possibly want. Yet, he is starting to realize that he might be past his prime and the idea of doing something more for his career is what he should be focusing on. But it does’t help that the media has named him, “Mr. Perfect”, as the attention that he gets is not always wanted. The game Clay once loved so much, is starting to look differently and the pressure that he is on to sign up for another football season is what gets him to leave town to go to Paris. There is only one person that he wants that doesn’t give him the time of day and that is Pepper. The is something about the gorgeous scientist that gets to Clay and he makes it his mission to get her to give them a chance.

I thoroughly loved reading Playing Mr. Perfect, it was relatable and steamy. We have two characters that started off as two opposites, then they soon realize just how much in common they both have. It was great seeing them evolve and rely on each other when things got tough. The chemistry was off-the-charts and the world around them was well-written/described. Clay is a total romantic at heart and Pepper is trying really hard to fully rationalize her feelings for the football player. They are getting to know what they truly want for their future and that includes their relationship. The ending was sweet and full of romance. I can’t wait to read what’s next in the series, I would highly recommend adding this book to your TBR list!

🔖 REVIEW BLITZ 🔖 The Hermit by Michelle Heard

The Hermit by Michelle Heard

Release Date: February 3, 2025 by MA HEARD
Pages: 268
Genres: Romance, Mafia, Contemporary

From USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling author Michelle Heard comes a new STANDALONE, full-length MAFIA ROMANCE novel.

I entered an arranged marriage so my sister, Ciara, could marry for love. Three years later, I’m a widow, and my father arranges for Ciara to marry Dominik Varga. The assassin slash arms dealer is as dangerous as he’s quiet, which is very unnerving.

Needless to say, I’m not happy at all. A deal was a deal, and I kept my end of it, so there’s no way on God’s green earth I’ll just sit back and smile like a good little girl. I’ll fight for Ciara’s freedom so she won’t have to face the hell I was forced to endure.

But Dominik doesn’t make things easy for me. He’s determined to get his hands on half of Dad’s empire.
When he moves into my family home, my entire routine unravels. I have to fight for more than just my sister’s freedom because I’m in danger of losing my heart.

I refuse to admit I’m drawn to his darkness. If I do, God only knows whether we’ll survive the fire raging between us.

A Mafia Romance full-length novel.

Each book in the Mafia Empire series is interconnected but about a different couple who will all find their HEA.

My Review:

Heard delivers a gripping and page-turning romance in The Hermit, the first book in the Mafia Empire Series. This dark enemies-to-lovers romance will leave you wanting a Dominik of your own.

The story starts off by introducing us to Grace Devlin, a thirty-two year old widow whose upbringing in the mafia has changed the course of her life in the last three years since the death of her husband. Having been part of a disastrous arranged marriage that only brought her pain, Grace realizes that she doesn’t want for her young sister to go through the same thing. So when their dad arranges a marriage between Ciara and Dominik Varga, it unleashes a part of Grace that won’t vow down to her dad’s wishes. He stopped caring about their wellbeing after their mother passed away, so it’s up to Grace to protect her sister at all costs. Even if it means taking her place and marry the dangerous assassin instead. Nothing could have prepared her for the way Dominik would sweep her of her feet and give her that chance to truly be loved. But the dangerous of their lives are all around them and that could destroy their chance at being together.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Hermit, their first encounter was not conventional. But as Dominik got to know Grace, he was attracted to her and respected how fiercely protective she was of her younger sister. It was clear that Grace had a bad experience in her previous marriage and Dominik vowed to earn her trust, which quickly blossomed into developing feelings for each other. Although Dominik had a tough past as well, he was able to let his guard down with Grace and for the first time he was able to feel what it’s like being loved. They both learn to heal along the way while creating a safe space for their relationship and their future life together. Their story was such a great way to start the series with as we get a glimpse into other secondary characters as well. The ending was perfect for them and I cannot wait to read the rest of the series. I would highly recommend checking out the book! :)

Just One More Temptation by Carly Phillips

Release Date: February 4, 2025
Pages: 195
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

He’s a grumpy single dad who's serious and uptight.
She’s a younger free spirit who's sunshine and light.

Fallon Sterling’s one experience with a rich, older man ended in heartbreak. So when twin nine-year-old girls wind up in her gallery, followed by their oh-so-hot dad, she refuses to notice how sexy he is. And she will not let herself fall for his broody charms. Or his adorable daughters. That was her plan. Unfortunately, planning hasn't always been her strong suit…

Noah Powers needs a reliable nanny, not a romance with a much younger artist who his girls adore. The fact that he desires Fallon and the sunshine she brings into his drab world doesn't matter. His focus needs to be on his work and his daughters. Trouble is, he can never remember that when Fallon is in his arms.

Somewhere between a matchmaking family (his) and dangerous workplace drama (hers), Fallon and Noah realize they might have more in common than they thought. But is it enough for happily ever after?

Just One More Temptation, book 3 in the stand-alone Sterling Family series, is a spicy, fun, hot, age-gap, single-dad, contemporary romance. Order today, and welcome to romantic escapism at its steamiest.

My Review:

As the fourth book in The Sterling Family Series, Phillips delivers a steamy and swoon worthy romance in Just One More Temptation. This grumpy-sunshine story will pull at your heartstrings and never let go.

Noah Powers never intended to find himself frantically searching for his twin daughters at a park in New York City. He had shared custody of his daughters up until six months ago when his ex decided to take on a huge career opportunity abroad. Now Noah has to juggle his busy career as a partner at a law firm, all while trying to find the perfect candidate to take care of his kids. So when the girls get attached to Fallon, the artist that works at a gallery where he ends up finding them in the end. Noah has to fight the desire to be near her. No matter how good she is with his kids or with him, he has to remember that there are things that could tear them apart.

Fallon Sterling never expected to bond with the two little girls that end up at the gallery she works at. They stole her heart and do did their dad. Her chemistry with Noah was instant, though it’s from her previous experience that she she vows to not fall for the an older man who is going to hurt break her heart. Yet, it’s Noah’s understanding that keeps her wanting to be with him. No matter the curveballs that get sent their way, she is all in.

I throughly enjoyed reading Just One More Temptation, the story was sweet and characters were likable. Noah’s daughter’s truly stole the spotlight, they are full of wit and charm. We get to see Fallon step up into a different role, she is not just working at the gallery but at some point she finds herself taking care of the girls while Noah finds them a nanny. On the other hand, Noah is protective of those he loves and that soon applies to Fallon. He has set his heart on her and the goal is to make her his no matter what. All in all, I would highly recommend checking out the book. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series! :)

My Review:

Moreland has outdone herself in her latest release, A Simple Life. This opposites-attract second chance romance will leave you rooting for the characters until the very end!

For John Elliott, being able to take over his grandparents’ farm has has brought him a lot of joy and pride. His businesses keep him busy, with no time for any distractions of any kind. So when John gets word that one of his rentals has a new tenant, he is taken aback when he sees Quinn Harper. The beautiful woman he’d met at the local fair the night before. She is feisty and a single mom to her daughter, Abby. John apologizes for the assumptions that he’d made the night before, there is a part of him that feels protective of Quinn from the very beginning. Something that doesn’t change as the two start to get to know each other better. John has been alone for too long and he makes it his mission to convince Quinn that they might just be meant for one another. Starting a new chapter in her and her daughter’s life is what motivates Quinn Harper to move to a small town. Not realizing just how much their lives were about to change forever.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading A Simple Life, we get to know and fall in love with John’s caring self. He is overly protective when it comes to Quinn and her daughter. It’s a trait that shows Quinn how different he is from her ex. He is sweet and willing to teach Abby everything about being a farmer. We get to see their bond grow stronger throughout the story as well. Meanwhile, the relationship between the main characters just keeps getting steamer than ever and there is not denying how much they like being around each other. They both have pasts to overcome and they have to go through curveballs in oder to get their happily-ever-after. All in all, I would highly recommend checking out this book and any other book by the author. You will not regret it! :)

🔖 RELEASE BLITZ 🔖 The Way We Score by Tia Louise {REVIEW}

The Way We Score by Tia Louise

Release Date: January 16, 2025
Pages: 360
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

We promised our love was forever. A decade later, two little blue lines might settle the score.

You've heard of those kids who peak in high school?
Meet my love life.
Garrett Bradford was mine from the moment we saw each other in ninth grade.
Even then, he was a six-foot-four mountain of muscles with bright blue eyes, a wide grin, and a way with his hands.
He was the high school football star, and I was the dance team captain.
We were the storybook cliché... until we weren't.

Now he's the most famous offensive lineman in the league, and I'm a buttoned-up, ultra-professional lawyer.
My dancing days are over, and my carefully controlled life is a mess.
Infertility killed my marriage, or that's what I told myself. Infertility and a cheating ex.
And my inability to get over Garrett Bradford.

One reckless night at his little sister's wedding is only supposed to be a reunion, a trip down memory lane to a time when life was happier.
Six weeks later, I'm staring at a positive pregnancy test wondering, How did this happen?

I figure I'm on my own until Garrett overhauls his life, moves back to our small town, and shows up every day to massage my feet, hold my hair when I barf, and go with me to all my doctor's appointments.

Our situation has an end date, just like it did so many years ago.
Unless this little score changes the game and gives us the second chance I thought we'd lost.

My Review:

Louise delivers a heartwarming second-chance story in The Way We Score. As the third book in The Bradford Boys Series, this small-town sports romance will leave you wanting for more!

They thought that their love was going to last forever, but for Garrett Bradford and Olivia Bankston, their lives completely change the minute they get accepted into different colleges. While Liv’s dream is to become a professional dancer, Garrett’s is to be a pro football player. Neither of them expected to be pulled apart after having known each other since they were kids. But Garrett is set on to follow his future, not realizing that he would not see Liv again for many years. A decision that completely devastated Liv and one that made her afraid of trusting completely. She will not let herself get hurt again, even if it means having to see him again ten years later. It would take a decade to bring them together, with her as a professional lawyer and him as a famous offensive lineman for the New Jersey Pirates. It would take one night to cross the line of no return to bring into question their potential future together. Giving Garrett the chance to prove that he is a changed man before it’s too late.

I loved reading The Way We Score, to see how the characters grow overtime as they navigate the second chance that they have been given. It’s evident that Garrett truly cares about Liv, he goes above-and-beyond to be for her when she needs him the most. He is willing to do anything for her and adding a baby to the mix is what gets him in an overprotective mode. Although Liv’s previous relationship failed, making her believe that she was at fault, there is a part of her that was scared to give Garrett that second chance. Yet, he has always been it for her even after many years apart. Now they have to lean on each other for the next phase in their lives. All in all, I would highly recommend checking out the book. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. :)
