🌟 REVIEW BLITZ 🌟 A Royal Mistake by Piper Rayne

A Royal Mistake by Piper Rayne

Release Date: March 31st 2020
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

He’s not your average Joe from the corner bar.
He’s the heir to the crown.

I should know, I’ve followed him for years.
Not in a stalkerish way. Magazines and online gossip blogs are fair game when you’re royalty. But I do know every detail about him, down to the brand of boxer briefs he wears.

All my studying of the man who plays a starring role in my dreams pays off when I win a dinner with him. As if that wasn’t enough, he barters a deal with me that has him moving into my spare guest room.

I forgot that fairy tales don’t exist though because just as I’m about to get everything I want, including the prince, I find out there’s someone in Prince Adrian Marx’s life I don’t know—his fiancΓ©e.

My Review:

A Royal Mistake is the second book in The Rooftop Crew series, a story about new beginnings and lots of swoon worthy moments to keep you wanting for more.

At the beginning of the story we get to meet Sierra Sanders, a twenty-seven year old journalist who has a bit of an obsession with royalty. It’s due to the various amounts of reading that she knows everything there is to know about Prince Adrian Marx, or so she thought. It would take winning a date with the prince to change her life forever. Sierra has always put her career first and when she finds out that there is going to be a promotion to become anchor at her job, she knows that she needs to think ahead. Meeting the prince gives her an insight to the real man behind all the pictures and articles she has read on him. Their chemistry is undeniable, so it becomes easier for her to let him be her roommate for the next two months in exchange for a candid story on him. This should have been her ticket to success, but the more time she spends with him, the more she starts to fall in love with him.

Prince Adrian Marx of Sandsal loves enjoying time with his friends and has no intention of becoming king. In fact, he thinks that going on a date with a mysterious woman for charity is a waste of time. His family has been more than accommodating in indulging his “finding yourself” phase as he runs around the world without taking on more royal duties. But they’ve had enough. The royal family is about to be exposed to a royal scandal and he is the only one that can help them from scrutiny. When he finds out that Sierra is a journalist, he knows that she will write about him and it’s his job to give her the right information. Yet, he wasn’t expecting to like being with her so much. He is immediately attracted to her caring and feisty personality. He knows that he has to go back home eventually and this time he is willing to spend the next two months of freedom before his future changes forever.

Not having read the first book in the series, I didn’t know what to expect before A Royal Mistake. Needless to say, the characters were relatable and entertaining to read. I found myself swooning over the characters right away. It’s their instant chemistry that had me reading nonstop until the very end. Prince Adrian definitely has an adventurous life, but he can also be caring and kind. Sierra is feisty and knows about what she wants and fights to get it. She has a truly emotional story herself and it was nice to see Adrian be there for her. The relationship that they have with secondary characters made the story that much more fun to read. I love the twists in the story, but I wasn’t thrilled with how fast it ended and how it ended. It looks like the story is interconnected with the rest of the series so I wouldn’t be surprised if Adrian and Sierra make future appearances. All in all, the story was great read and if you love a good royal romance then I would highly recommend checking out A Royal Mistake. :)

🌟RELEASE BLAST!🌟 Wild Steamy Hook-Up by Piper Rayne {REVIEW}

Wild Steamy Hook-Up by Piper Rayne

Release Date: August 27th 2019
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

He’s the quiet brooding guy who’s owned my heart since I was sixteen but has refused to claim it.

I’m the naΓ―ve woman who believes that someday our time will come.

I just didn’t realize that someday would include waking up in Vegas with a raging hangover and a ring on my finger.

If we believed in fate, maybe one of us would’ve trusted that something more powerful than ourselves interceded because our love is one of tangled vines. As twisted and frayed as they’ve become over the years, they’ve never broken.

An annulment seemed like the easy way out. We should’ve known it wouldn’t be fate that intervened, but our Italian Mamas. They can deliver Oscar-worthy performances when heaping on the guilt.

We thought it’d be easy to pretend to be a happily married couple in front of our families for three months and then say we gave it our best shot and go our separate ways.

But nothing is easy when it comes to Dominic Mancini and me. Nothing.

My Review:

Not having read other books by the author before, I didn’t know what to expect before reading Wild Steamy Hook-Up. Needless to say, the book was heartwarming and entertaining. This friends-to-lovers second chance romance will leave you wanting for more.

In the story we get to meet Dominic Mancini and Valentina Sommerland, two individuals who have known each other since they were teens. Having grown up with each other, they were able to bond with each other’s families as well, but things didn’t end turning they way they wanted them to. Now at thirty-six, their lives have dramatically changed and it’s by on encounter that will change their lives forever.

Dominic Mancini is the quiet brooding guy who has worked really hard for what he has. He also happens to be the one-night stand type-of-guy who would rather have that than an actual relationship. But deep down he has always had feelings for Valentina and no matter how hard he wants to move on from their past, he just can’t. It’s when he wakes up married to her in Las Vegas that everything changes between them. They know that they have chemistry, but they are not good for each other. When their Italian moms find out about their drunken marriage, they insist on them giving it a try. So they have to stay married for three months and go their separate ways after that if it doesn’t work out. But spending time with each other is making him see that he doesn’t want to let her go, he just needs to convince her to give them another chance.

Valentina has worked really hard to get her dancing studios to be successful and it’s surprised when Dom reaches out to her while her students compete for the championship in Las Vegas. But a dinner and way too many drinks later makes them do what they once vowed to do and that is to get married. She has never forgotten about Dom and getting married to him should be a happy moment, but it isn’t when he is in a hurry to get it annulled. When they face their families they are forced to stay together for three months and during that she sees the good in him that she saw when they were teens. He is still the caring guy that loves his family and loves to cook for her. He is everything she wants and will not atop until he truly gives their marriage a try.

I throughly loved reading this story, it was steamy and funny. It’s evident that the characters have a past and now that they are married they are forced to face their troubles in order to have a future together. Dom is your typical womanizer who doesn’t want a relationship, but he gives his love to his family. They are all a united family who love to poke one another and be there for each other. I loved their interaction as well as other secondary characters that made the book much more entertaining. Valentina is a hard working woman whose family is tight and small. She might not have siblings, but she is still pretty close to her mom and dad. I loved their chemistry and the ending was really sweet. I would recommend reading this book, you will not be disappoint it! :)

Who knew sleeping with the enemy could be this fun?

Was the one night stand a good idea?

Well, no. Probably not in retrospect.

In my defense I had just moved back into my grandparent’s house, I’d lost my dream job, and a guy on Tinder had stood me up. It was like life had suddenly stamped ‘LOSER’ on my forehead.

So when the guy behind the bar started giving me THE look… you know, the one that promised I’d be screaming his name into the wee hours of the morning? When that guy also has the perfect amount of scruff on his chiseled chin, biceps bulging out of his t-shirt, and a cocky grin you knew he’d earned in the sack… when he gives you that look, you don’t bother to figure out what your six degrees of separation are. You jump on that horse and ride it!

Pun fully and completely intended. And accurate by the way.

I fully admit to feeling sorry for myself and acting impulsively, but by the time I’d figured out WHO the bartender was, I was already falling for him.
