ISSY

“OK,” Jordan says, smiling at me as he leans back in his chair and takes a sip of wine. “Hit me, Issy. What’s your fantasy? And I’ll see if I can help.”

“Well… I have always…” I cringe, not sure if I should actually say it.

“Go on, you’re almost there.”

“Well.” I sigh. “Ever since I moved in across the street I’ve sorta had a secret fantasy about the club.”

“Club?” Jordan asks.

“You know,” I say, nodding my head in the direction of next door. “That place.”

“Turning Point?” he asks. “It’s closed. And I don’t have a sex club on my roster of games, so…”

“I know it’s closed. It’s not really the sex club part, but the… scene part.”

“Scene?” he asks, blinking, as if he’s confused.

Which just makes me heat up with anger. I want to slap him right now. “Are you or are you not a sex game master? Why are you acting like you have no clue what I’m talking about?”

“I just need specifics, Issy. Tell me what you mean by scene.”

“You know. People… watching. Lots of people. Like a whole crowd of people.”

“Public sex?”

“No,” I say quickly. “No, not public. Private, but in a place with lots of people.”

“A bar?”

“No. That’s not private.”

“So a sex club.” He laughs.

“Whatever. I guess so. I dunno. Sex with…” I think about what he was telling me about panic a few minutes ago. “With chaos. Yes. I think you got that part right. I want some safe chaos. That’s the fantasy I think about most. So can you make a game about that?”

He grimaces. Then sighs. Then looks up at the ceiling. Then stands up and buttons his suit coat. “Ya know, Issy, I don’t think you’re really a good candidate for this after all.”

“What?”

“Yeah, let’s forget the whole thing. I’ll let Chella know it didn’t work out, OK? You go ahead and enjoy the dinner. I hear it’s delicious.”

And then he puts on his coat, grabs his briefcase, and walks out.

“What the fuck?” I get up and go after him, but he’s already making his way through the tables of people, and it’s either let him leave or make a scene, so…

So I just watch him go.

My Review:

Hot Daddy is the second book in the Billionaire Bachelors series, where it follows the relationship between a lawyer and a CEO as they navigate their way through second chances at love and at life.

At the beginning of the book we get to meet Jules Robinson, a badass lawyer/third-year associate at the Harper, Wells & Milstein firm. Having worked hard to get to where she is in her career, she wasn’t expecting to get harassed by the managing partner’s son while at work. Outraged at what just happened to her, Jules punches the guy in efforts to get away, which she does but she also ends up losing her job. Now she has no job and bills to pay. It is then that she gets a call from Olivia Danvers, who happens to run a high-end dating service for wealthy clients who need someone to accompany them to different events, offering Jules a job that she can’t refuse. The job is simple: pretend to be a fiancee to a CEO who is trying to reform his reckless image and win custody of his god-children. What Jules wasn’t expecting was to come face-to-face with her one-night stand that she had while she was in Las Vegas three years ago. Jules knows that the connection that they shared that night was supposed to stay in the past, but seeing Caleb McAdams again is making her feel a pull towards him that could be dangerous to her feelings if she is not careful. But life has other plans and the more time she spends with him the harder it gets for her to deny any kind of feelings for him.

Caleb McAdams is the successful CEO of McAdams Automative, a race-car company who is known for being innovative and top of the field. But what draws people to the company is its CEO, Caleb’s good looks and wealth attract women from all over and he likes it. He knows that Jules is passionate about her career and will not hold her back if she wants to pursue it in New York, but while they’re in Boston he is determined to make things work with her as his feelings start to grow with each passing day. That is until the day of the hearing that his life changes forever and now he has to decide if pursuing a relationship with her is worth it or not.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, Lila Monroe did an amazing job with the first book in the series and I couldn’t wait to read this book as soon as it was announced. The story was entertaining and sexy. Caleb “Cal” is sweet and caring towards Jules and the kids. He is the playboy who has finally met his match and will do anything to make Jules his. I liked reading his interactions with the kids, he was funny and loving. He can can impulsively at times, but in then end Cal wants to make sure he is doing his best for the children. On the other hand, Jules was such a badass character in the story. She knows what she wants and fights to get it. I love the fact that she wants to succeed and make a name for herself. She is great with the kids as well. The chemistry between the characters was sizzling, they understood each other from the very start and their relationship just kept getting better throughout the book. Although Jules had her reservations about Cal at the beginning, knowing that he was still a playboy in her eyes, he was able to prove her wrong. But a mishap between the two of them could threaten their relationship and they have to find a way to fix it if they want to be with each other. All in all, the story was great from start to finish, the author did a great job tying everything together in the end. I would highly recommend reading this book and the previous book in the series, you will not regret it! :)

CAL POV

I bring the rest of the dirty dishes over to the sink, and we work in companionable silence for a few minutes, Jules rinsing plates before handing them to me to set in the dishwasher.

See? Nothing sexy about dirty dishes.

“Great stacking, Cal,” she says, looking surprised.

“What, you think I don’t know how to load a dishwasher?” I make a face. “I’m not completely useless.”

“Well, no,” she allows, tilting her head to the side. “Not completely.”

“Oh, you think you’re funny,” I say, reaching over to dip my fingers in the suds before flicking them in her direction.

“I am,” she says, flicking me back. “And don’t start.”

“Start what?” I ask, reaching over and splashing more. But this time, the water hits her square on, soaking her T-shirt so the thin cotton goes translucent. Clinging to her curves, and the outline of her bra.

Okay, so apparently dirty dishes can get sexy, after all.

Jules clears her throat and grabs a hooded sweatshirt from the back of a chair and pulls it on—zipping all the way to her chin. “You good to finish in here?” she asks, looking flustered.

I nod. Down, boy. “You go put your feet up.”

“You don’t have to ask twice.”

Jules exits the kitchen, fast, and I sigh. Kissing her back at HQ was a massive mistake . . . which left me with a massive hard-on for the rest of the afternoon. I couldn’t help it. Something about Jules is dangerously kissable.

And lickable.

And definitely fuckable.

I scowl at the dishcloths. I’ve never had a problem keeping my hands to myself before, and if I wanted to get a workout, I have plenty of options. I may not be living the wild playboy lifestyle anymore, but that doesn’t mean I’m a monk.

But Jules is off limits.

Which is probably why I’m going crazy over here trying not to notice the way she bites her lower lip when she’s thinking . . . or how her jeans fit way too well.

And if I even let myself start to remember how she felt in Vegas, bucking against me, begging for more—

Fuck, I’m going to need a damn cold shower twice a day at this rate.
