I failed...

My name is Ryder Carter, future heir of Realm Five, Minato.

I was destined to do great things, to walk alongside my fellow star knights, as we desperately searched for the woman who would lead our galaxy to salvation.

My spirit and I had failed her once, unable to prevent the chain of events and challenges she’d faced for sixteen cycles. Then, we finally found her - alive.

Within two rotations, she'd blossomed into a beautiful rose - such delicate petals, filled with purity and life. My mission was to guide her home, to where she truly belonged, as our Princess and saviour from the approaching darkness. She was more than just our Princess; I loved her with all my heart.

But...I failed. My once perfect rose, damaged by my failures. Would she ever forgive me, her star knight who'd sworn to protect her? Will I ever get the chance to tell her how much she means to me...to us?

Only the Starlight gods can tell. Please...bring my Firefly home.

~In Stars We Trust~

"Mako? Are you sleep walking again?" Ryder's voice made me relax as I rubbed at my eyes.

"Ryder, why did you guys put a wall in the middle of the hall? It's blocking me from food." I whined.

"There's our Firefly." Marcus praised, chuckling.

"I can't believe she actually called Kai a wall." Daniel mused, his voice sounded thick with sleep.

"Kai?" I asked, opening my eyes just as the apparent wall, turned around, brilliant amber eyes locking on me. I gawked at the sight; my heart raced at the new shifter before me.

He was six feet for sure, maybe only an inch away from Marcus’ height. His wind-blown, coiffed hair was a stunning orange. Holy Starlight, a GINGER!! Like those hot guys in the fashion magazines.

He smiled, his perfectly straight, white teeth making an appearance, only adding to his forbidden sexiness. I wonder if Adam in the bible was this good looking. Maybe that's why that Eve shifter went and took that apple.

"Princess, that's not how it went in the bible, but I'm pleased with your admission of liking my ginger hair." He approved; his calm voice enough to soothe any shifter.

“Fuck, fuck, fuck! I fucking hate Texas.” I sling my backpack down, and it lands on my toe. Shooting pain bursts from my foot. “Bollocks.” Kicking the stupid thing, I mutter angrily, “Stupid fucking bag. Stupid fucking bus.”
A raspy chuckle makes me freeze.
I brush down my shirt, straighten, and spin. My eyes start at the tarmac under my feet and slowly track upwards, devouring the biker god in front of me. Jesus, he’s huge. His tight white T-shirt stretches taut over his bulging chest. Tattoos cover his arms down to his knuckles and peak tantalizingly out of the neck of his shirt. His strong, thick thighs are spread astride a badass Harley motorcycle, the polished chrome sparkling in the morning sunlight.
His hair is dark, almost black. Short at the sides but longer, shaggy and tousled on the top. God, I’m tempted to run my fingers through it. I force my hands into my pockets to stop myself from reaching out.
I finally focus on his face. Wow, he’s beautiful. Perfectly chiseled cheekbones and full lips showcase his amused grin.
“Can I help you?” I ask.
He pulls a long drag from his cigarette and lazily blows the smoke into the air. “No thanks, darlin’, I’m happy watching.” His gaze glides up and down my body, and my skin heats under his appraisal.

✯REVIEW & EXCERPT TOUR:✯ The Bed Mate by Kendall Ryan

The Bed Mate by Kendall Ryan

Release Date: November 14th 2017
Series: Roommates #3.5
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

I might be a typical guy, but these last few years, my love life’s been anything but. From crazy ex-girlfriends to one night stands who are stage-five clingers, my relationships go bad faster than the milk in your fridge. The only constant has been my best friend Maggie.

Fresh off a bad breakup of her own, I invite Maggie to my guy’s skiing weekend knowing she needs an escape from reality. But then something funny starts to happen. I start noticing things about her that I never noticed before.

She’s beautiful and doesn’t know it, she’s funny without even trying, and now she’s suddenly single for the first time in forever.

Sharing a hotel room with her proves to be the tipping point in our very platonic friendship. Suddenly I want to put my hands, my mouth, and my ... other parts ... all over her gorgeous body. I want to claim her, make sure no man touches her ever again. But then her groveling ex shows up, and Maggie’s torn.

Am I ready to screw up the best relationship I’ve ever had for a shot at something more?

My Review:

From the eye-catching cover to the intriguing synopsis, Kendall Ryan has managed to take this novella and take it to a whole different level. It will most certainly leave you wanting for more.

The Bed Mate evolves around Sam and Maggie, two friends who met when they were in college. Though it has been years since they met, the two of them have been through ups and downs but at the end they always have each other to rely on. When the two find themselves involved in break ups, Sam is the one that flies Maggie from New York to Colorado for a weekend getaway. When she arrives to the hotel, they both find out that they’ll be sharing a room together which shouldn’t have been a problem, but what Maggie doesn’t know is that Sam has feelings for her. Ever since they met in college, Sam has always had a crush on Maggie that soon developed into something so much more, but he has been afraid to tell her how he feels. Now that they’re together it’ll be up to him to decide if he is willing to risk their friendship if she doesn’t end up feeling the same.

I loved the story, it didn’t feel rushed at all and the characters were well thought out. Sam is one those characters that will leave you swooning and rooting for the couple. Their relationship was definitely relatable and for that reason it made their transition to becoming a couple much more authentic. The story as a whole was great, I would highly recommend reading it now, it would make a good holiday read. :)

My Rating:

{EXCERPT}

Every now and then, Sam would shoot me a sympathetic look, knowing that I had no idea what they were talking about, but in truth, their company was a welcome break. Between what the woman in the shop had said and the lady on the plane’s insinuation, my mind was going a mile a minute and I was beginning to look at Sam in a way I definitely shouldn’t be.

Okay, so, yeah, he was sexy. That was a no-brainer.

I shot him a furtive glance, taking in the corded muscles of his forearms and the lock of dark hair that constantly flopped onto his forehead. And sure, he was sweet and attentive. He looked after me and made sure I always had a fresh drink and that I wasn’t cold or hot. He held the door for me and pulled out my chair when we went to restaurants. Hell, he’d been looking forward to this trip for months and he’d sacrificed an entire day just to make sure I got here safe and didn’t spend my time sulking.

Still, that didn’t mean he had feelings for me. He hadn’t argued when I’d mentioned us being like brother and sister or anything.

No, this whole line of thinking was ludicrous. Sam was a good friend. That was all…wasn’t it?

After all, Trevor had loved me once and he never did any of that.

Admittedly, that wasn’t the best example, but it proved my point all the same. In Sam’s shoes, Trevor never would have missed the chance to hit the slopes with his friends. He hadn’t even skipped the business trip that fell on my twenty-fifth birthday years back.

But Sam was there, my brain supplied helpfully.

Again, not an indication that he had feelings for me. People were just different. Sam was one of the good ones. And if he liked me surely I’d have known by now. He’d have told me or…something.

“Is that your phone?” Sam turned to me and I blinked, only realizing that I’d been so encompassed in my own thoughts that I’d totally zoned out.

“What?” I asked, confused.

“Don’t you hear that vibrating noise? I think it’s your phone.”

I listened hard and then heard the low, gentle hum he was talking about.

“Yep, probably you-know-who again.” I sighed, but fished the phone from my tiny handbag all the same on the off chance it was a family member with an emergency.

It wasn’t Trevor, though. He had called—I had seven new missed messages from him since I’d left for the airport, but I also had three missed calls from my friend Deanna. I hadn’t spoken to her in more than two weeks because she’d been away on a long-awaited safari, but now more than ever I really needed to hear her voice.
