{EXCERPT}

“Merry Christmas, baby,” Jack whispers, his warm breath dancing across the skin below my ear.

I rub my eyes, turn my head to face him, and smile. “Merry Christmas.”

His fingers skim across my bare arm then slide in between mine, squeezing my hand gently.

“Did you sleep good?”

I nod. “Yeah, actually I did.” I don’t remember much after drifting off to sleep last night, which I usually equate to a good night’s sleep.

“How about you? Was the couch good to you?” I motion toward the small sofa beside the bed and cringe. There is no way anyone could sleep well on that tiny thing, but knowing Jack, he’ll lie and say he did just so I won’t feel bad that he stayed the night.

He barks out a laugh before rubbing his neck. “I slept better than I have in years.”

“I doubt that.” I hesitate for a second. “But thank you… for staying.”

“You couldn’t have made me leave even if you wanted to.”

A secret masquerade hookup leads to complications with Rourke’s new boss.

Because no one will know me, right? One night. No names. No faces. It should have ended there. I had no idea that the handsome, enigmatic man would turn out to be my new employer.

Roman: After the masquerade, I searched for the girl who’d crashed my party, only to find her in my office a few months later. I can’t fire her because she’s the best assistant I’ve ever had, but I can’t stop wanting her in my bed either.

***This book was formerly released as part of the Bad Boy Billionaire Bachelors Boxset and can be read as a standalone.

THE EXILED PRINCE TRILOGY in reading order:
The Exiled Prince
The Dirty Princess
The War King

My Review:

Having read and enjoyed The Rebel Queen Duet, I just knew that I had to read Rourke’s story after and it didn’t disappoint at all. The Exiled Prince is the perfect steamy and swoon worthy romance that will hook you from beginning to end.

At the beginning we are introduce to Rourke Donahue, a twenty-six year old personal assistant to her best friend, Every. Having known each other for so long, she is sad to part ways so that her friend can move to the other side of the world with her new husband. This leaves Rourke with a lot of uncertainty as she will have to move out on her own and start a new life. On their last night together, Everly invites her to a masquerade ball, but without an invitation Rourke is ready to crash the exclusive event.

The ball is supposed to be a way for people to be themselves and the use of their real names is again the rules. With one night to herself, she decides to let go of any insecurities and be herself. She dances the night away and she attracts the attention of a mysterious men. She hard heard of Prince Menshikov and has been wanting to see him in person, and her mysterious guy might just be the exiled prince. Yet, without names it is hard to tell who he is, but she is ready to just be and they end up hooking up. Rourke decides to leave that night in the past and when she goes home. With absolutely no luck when it comes to finding a job, she gets referred to the Blue Sapphire Group who happen to need an assistant for the head of the company. Little did she know that her boss would turn out to be her mysterious man. Now Rourke has to decide if she wants to leave their night in the past or fight for a future with him.

Roman Menshikov has the money and the status to get him any woman he could possibly want. Yet, after the masquerade ball he couldn’t stop thinking about his mysterious stranger and has since then searched for her without any luck. No one has ever gone against his word like her and he wants to make her his no matter what. But he has been kept busy with his work and ex that has made him frustrated. His assistants have all quit and he can’t keep going through them all the time. So he is surprised to see a new assistant at his beck and call. Though he is too busy ordering her around, he comes to an abrupt awakening when he figures out that his mysterious girl has been working for him all along. Roman knows that he has pissed her off and wants to make things right with her. But she is his employee and there are too many secrets that could threaten a future with her if he doesn’t do anything about them.

I absolutely loved reading The Exiled Prince! Jeana E. Mann did a great job creating a story full of lust and passion between the characters. It was truly electrifying! I found myself loving Roman, he is a truly a guy any girl would want to be with. He is protective, yet caring at the same time. On the other hand, Rourke is feisty and courageous. She is not afraid to speak her mind and I loved that about her. They are opposites who attract and their chemistry is sizzling. There are a lot of things that the characters go through in the book and they grew as the story progressed. They had to trust and rely on each other in order to have a future together. Rourke sees what kind of man Roman is and she has truly met her match. The ending was sweet, though there are things that could have been explained a little bit more. I’m happy to see that there is a new book in the trilogy. I would highly recommend checking out this book and any other by the author, you will not regret it! :)

🌟 RELEASE BLITZ 🌟 Trying to Score by Kendall Ryan {REVIEW}

Trying to Score by Kendall Ryan

Release Date: November 12th 2019 by Amazon Digital Services
Series: Hot Jocks #3
Pages: 284
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

Teddy King excels at many things. Playing hockey. Check. Scoring on and off the ice. Check. Being stupidly attractive ... Double check.

I knew him way back when. Before he was the guy everyone wanted a piece of, he was just a rebellious college co-ed and one of my more energetic study partners.

But secrets have a way of getting out, and a steamy encounter from our college days (that we probably shouldn't have filmed) is about to cause a major scandal. Unless we can work together to stop it.

Teddy’s no stranger to hard work … but the thing he wants most?

Is me.

Note: This high-heat standalone is chock-full of scorching banter and steamy good times. He's a testosterone-dripping hockey player who wants a second chance. She's a tough as nails attorney intent on making partner. Loads of hot banter. No cliffhanger. Enjoy!

Your favorite hot jocks are back with an all new stand-alone novel. If you like sexy, confident men who know how to handle a stick (on and off the ice), and smart women who are strong enough to keep all those big egos in check, this series of athlete romances is perfect for you!

(Books can be enjoyed in any order.)

My Review:

Having read and enjoyed the previous book in the Hot Jocks series, I couldn’t wait to read Teddy’s story and it did not disappoint. This second chance sports romance story will have you swooning and rooting for the characters until the very end.

At the beginning of the story we get to meet Sara Dawson, an attorney who has worked so hard to get to where she is in life. She has put her career first for so long and she is getting close to making partner at Carroll and Associates. But on her day off she attends a charity function put on by the nonprofit her friend Aubree works for. The charity will auction off some of the Ice Hawks players for the evening and she is ready to have company for the night. Yet, she wasn’t expecting to bid on possibly one of the hottest hockey players, Teddy King, after he asks for her help before it’s too late. Turns out that their steamy encounter back in college that they once filmed is about to come out and possible destroy their careers if they don’t work together to stop it from getting released. Little did she know that the encounter would bring them back together again and the more time she spend with him, the more she wants to keep him forever.

Teddy King has it all, the career and looks to him any woman he could possibly have. But he can’t stop thinking about Sara and what they used to have back in college. Now he is a famous hockey player and she is a kick-ass attorney that always has something to say about him. They choose to leave their past behind, until he gets an email that would change their lives forever. It’s now more than ever that they have to work together in oder to stop their video from getting out and he will not stop until he makes her his.

I absolutely loved reading this book! Ryan did a great job with the characters and the story as a whole. Sara is a tough attorney who wants to move up in her career and has left her without a partner like her friends have. She sees how happy they are and wonders if she can have that too, but her career will always come first. On the other hand, Teddy may be womanizer but he has kind heart. He has looked after his grandfather for a while and he will have to decide if being apart from him is worth it just so that he is closer to Sara. It’s evident that they both want a future together, now they’ll have to figure out how to get one before it’s too late. Loved their chemistry and the ending was great too. I cannot wait to read what’s next in the series! Highly recommend checking it out. :)
