Two years ago, the aliens made contact. Now Cara Sweeney is going to be sharing a bathroom with one of them.
Handpicked to host the first-ever L’eihr exchange student, Cara thinks her future is set. Not only does she get a free ride to her dream college, she’ll have inside information about the mysterious L’eihrs that every journalist would kill for. Cara’s blog following is about to skyrocket.
Still, Cara isn’t sure what to think when she meets Aelyx. Humans and L’eihrs have nearly identical DNA, but cold, infuriatingly brilliant Aelyx couldn’t seem more alien. She’s certain about one thing, though: no human boy is this good-looking.
But when Cara's classmates get swept up by anti-L'eihr paranoia, Midtown High School suddenly isn't safe anymore. Threatening notes appear in Cara's locker, and a police officer has to escort her and Aelyx to class.
Cara finds support in the last person she expected. She realizes that Aelyx isn’t just her only friend; she's fallen hard for him. But Aelyx has been hiding the truth about the purpose of his exchange, and its potentially deadly consequences. Soon Cara will be in for the fight of her life—not just for herself and the boy she loves, but for the future of her planet.

My Review:
Alienated is A Must Read!
Not having read any “alien story” before, I didn't know what to expect. The premise sounded promising and the cover sealed the deal for me. As soon as I started reading I found myself loving the story, it was cleverly written and hilarious. Melissa Landers does such a good job describing how the characters felt and the setting in general. I found the alien world (L'eihr) very intriguing and for that, I have to say that it made me love the book that much more.
From the very beginning we are introduced to the main character, Cara Sweeney, a high school student whose strong personality has her picked by the L'eihrs to host a student in her house in order to learn more from one another. At first she isn't quite sure what to expect, but the minute she meets Aelyx her world begins to change. Those that are around her begin to turn her back on her and people are starting to hate her for hosting an alien in her house. Nothing comes easy with having a L'eihr in her home, especially when that L'eihr is charming and good-looking. As the two of them start spending more time with each other, they both start learning just how much they have in common and how difficult it is to be apart. Now Cara has to decide whether or not to risk everything she has for the one she loves.
I absolutely loved how there is both Cara's and Aelyx's point-of-view. It made the story that much more interesting to read. Their moments together were also sweet and funny. I really liked Aelyx's personality, especially when he starts to feel human emotions and how strong love can be. The ending left me speechless and with a twist like that, I really want to read the next book already! Overall, I recommend everyone to read this book, it has elements of a great romance/adventure story that anyone can enjoy.
