My Review:

Having read the previous book in the trilogy, I was really excited when I found out the author was going to write a book about Aiden. He is a very instrumental character in the first book and we finally get to learn more about him in this book.

As VP and head of security for BAM, Aiden Callaghan is used to being in control over every situations in his job. Although has managed to become wealthy and successful in his job, his past has made it difficult for him to learn to believe in love. It is when Cami shows up in his life that he has the desire to truly be with her and protect her that shows how much he wants to change. But when her life is threatened, Aiden takes her to his house where she ends up staying until the problem is solved. That’s when he starts to spend more time with her and trusts her enough to tell her about his past. He knows that she deserves so much better than what he is willing to offer, but when he realizes just how much he loves, it’ll be up to him to prove to her that they can truly be happy together.

Cami Wilson is a university student who is currently studying fashion design and works at a high-end boutique in hopes of working for a clothing company one day. Although she is focused on finishing with school, she never expected to meet Aiden and feel incredibly attractive to him. He is incredibly good looking and protective, but no matter what she does she can’t get him to truly date her. He has let her know that their relationship can’t go any further than that and she has to accept that. But things start to change the minute her things start to go missing and things turn for the worse when her life is at risk. Cami has her own demons to fight and when Aiden starts to trust her with things about his past she begins to feel closer to him. Now she has to find a way to get him to see what she sees in him in order to convince him that they can have a future together.

I loved this book, it was steamy and full of twists and turns. It’s evident that both of the characters have pasts that they’re trying to get over, but when they’re together they’re able to see a future with each other. Aiden is you’re typical swoon worthy character who is protective and will do anything in order to make sure that Cami is safe. Cami is such a strong character who knows what she wants and is not afraid to get it. There is a bit of thriller/mystery in the story that made it that much more interesting, it was a complete page-turner from beginning to end. I absolutely loved the ending, but I wish the author could have ended it a bit differently. All in all, the story was well written and enjoyable to read. I would highly recommend reading this book and any others by the author, you will not regret it. :)

My Rating:

AUTHOR INFORMATION:

New York Times/USA Today bestselling author Melanie Moreland, lives a happy and content life in a quiet area of Ontario with her beloved husband of twenty-seven-plus years and their rescue cat Amber. Nothing means more to her than her friends and family, and she cherishes every moment spent with them.

While seriously addicted to coffee, and highly challenged with all things computer-related and technical, she relishes baking, cooking, and trying new recipes for people to sample. She loves to throw dinner parties, and also enjoys travelling, here and abroad, but finds coming home is always the best part of any trip.

Melanie loves stories, especially paired with a good wine, and enjoys skydiving (free falling over a fleck of dust) extreme snowboarding (falling down stairs) and piloting her own helicopter (tripping over her own feet.) She's learned happily ever afters, even bumpy ones, are all in how you tell the story.

Thanks for stopping by! :)
