My Review:
From the sexy cover to the captivating synopsis, J.T. Geissinger has completely outdone herself in Melt For You. Having read the previous book in the series, I couldn’t wait to read the next book and it didn’t disappoint at all. The author has managed to create a charming story filled with swoon worthy moments that will leave you wanting for more.
At the beginning of the story we are introduced to Joellen Bixby, a thirty-six-year-old copyeditor who has been working for Maddox Publishing for the last ten years. She has also been in love with her boss and CEO, Michael Maddox for that long. Although she is socially awkward, Joellen wants to get her boss to notice her but doesn’t know how and that frustrates her. It’s when she gets back to her apartment one day that Joellen comes to a stop when she hears very loud music coming from her neighbor’s apartment. She walks up to the apartment and comes face-to-face with a very handsome stranger who happens to have a very sexy Scottish accent. The spell immediately crashes the minute he starts to bicker with her and he tells her that he will stop with his music if she cooks for him return. They make a bargain of some sorts and when he finds out that Joellen has been wanting to get her boss’ attention he is willing to help her. It is through Michael that she finds out who her neighbor really is.
Cameron McGregor ends up being the captain of a rugby team called the Red Devils. Although he is well known, Cameron has been on the papers lately and not for good reasons. This concerns Michael and he tells Joellen to be careful and to not trust Cameron. She knows that her neighbor is bad news, but he has offered to be there for her and spending time together has definitely made Joellen see him in a new light. What I loved about the story was how entertaining it was and all the heavy banter that they have is sizzling. Although they have fantastic chemistry, Joellen is set on getting her boss’ attention and love. She has viewed herself as the ugly duckling in her family and not being in a relationship at her age makes everyone around her see her differently. She has a lot of self-esteemed issues that she needs to overcome and Cameron is there to remind her that it’s okay to be herself no matter what other people think of her. In the end she has to decide if she truly wants Michael or if giving Cameron a shot is worth it or not.
As I mentioned before, I truly loved reading this story it was sweet and charming. Cameron is swoon worthy and just the perfect guy that anyone would want to have. He loves bickering with Joellen and causing trouble, which made things that much more fun to read. There is a big issue of self-esteem that the author handled very well and this empowered Joellen to be who she wanted to be in the end. We also be to find out more about Cameron and what brought him to New York. It’s evident from the very start that both of the characters have issues to overcome and it all ends up tying really well in the end. There are a bit of twists and turns as well, but I wish the author could have added more details towards the end. There were a few issues that felt unresolved to me that could have made the book that much better. I would highly recommend reading this book, it was lovable and swoon worthy, a definite must-read for sure. :)
