๐ŸŒŸREVIEW BLITZ:๐ŸŒŸ Bro Code by Kendall Ryan

Bro Code by Kendall Ryan

Release Date: May 1st 2018 by CreateSpace
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

There’s pretty much only one rule when you’re a guy.

Don’t be a douche.

Turns out, the fastest way to break that rule is to fall for your best friend’s sister.

Ava’s brilliant, sharp-tongued, gorgeous, and five years younger than me.

She’s the sexual equivalent of running with scissors. In a word, she’s dangerous. And completely off-limits.

Falling for her could ruin everything.

Yet I can’t seem to stop, even when her company is threatened by a lawsuit, and my promotion hinges on representing the opposing client—and winning.

I can’t see a way out of this mess that doesn’t end in a broken friendship, a broken heart, or a ruined career.

I may have broken the bro code when I fell for Ava. But do I have the balls to handle what comes next?

My Review:

I’m always excited to read a new release by Kendall Ryan, her stories are full of charm and sexiness that get addicting really fast. In Bro Code we get to meet Barrett and Ava as they take their friendship relationship to the next level and the hurdles that they have to go through in order to appease Ava’s brother.

At the beginning of the story we are introduced to Barrett Wilson, a thirty-year old lawyer who works for one of the biggest corporate law firms in Chicago. Even though he has the looks and money at his disposal, Barrett wants one thing and one thing only and that is to make partner at the firm. With his dedication and work ethic, he is confident that he’ll make partner in no time. But when he gets invited to a retiring party back in his childhood home of Indiana, he sets off right away in order to see his best friend, Nick and his family.

Growing up he felt like outsider in his home and the Saunders took him as part of the family. He sees the love that they have for each other and he sees Nick’s dad as his own after not having one growing up. Yet, there is something that Barrett has kept from Nick for so long and that is the massive crush that he has for Nick’s little sister, Ava. When he finds out that they’re all going to be staying at Saunders’ home, he doesn’t know what to do with the feelings that he has for Ava. It has been a while since they’ve seen each other and he doesn’t know whether she feels the same or not. It’s a gamble that he is willing to take and the minute they see each other there is instant chemistry and the sexual tension between them is on high alert. As the two start to spend more time together, Barrett keeps telling himself that dating Ava is against the “bro code” that he has with Nick and he doesn’t want to lose his friend. But his feelings for her are growing and he’ll have to decide if losing his friend is worth it or not.

Ava Saunders has had a crush on Barrett since they were kids, he is the friend that used to be at her house all the time growing up and they practically grew up together. But being his best friend’s little sister, Barrett never made a move on her or any other guys for that matter. She was always protected by her older brother Nick. At twenty-five-years old, she is ready to leave her life behind after her father is unable to work at their factory. Everyone kept telling her that she should sell the place, but she didn’t and instead is working really hard to be the best boss possible for those that she considers family. Ava feels the need to make the factory a success and make everyone else proud. Yet, there is something missing in her life and although she doesn’t have time for love, she still wants to be in a relationship. The minute she finds out that Barrett is going to be staying with them, she doesn’t know what to do around him. But it’s evident that the two have so much chemistry and when they’re together they’re able to be there for each other as they both go through ups and downs. It’s when things start to change that they have to make a choice of whether they want to be together or not.

I cannot say enough good things about this book, Kendall Ryan has outdone herself again! The characters are relatable and so is the story itself. I found myself loving Barrett, he is charming and swoon-worthy. He wants to be there to protect Ava no matter what, but he has put his career first for so long that it’s hard for him to be in a relationship. On the other hand, Ava is such a hard worker and a badass in her own right. She has taken control over her dad’s factory and is willing to turn it around for the better. They are both hungry to prove themselves, to work hard and succeed at their chosen careers. It is because of that, that is hard for them to break the bro code as well. They go through so much in the story, but ends with a great ending. From the steamy scenes in the book to the ups and down that each character has to go through, Bro Code has a bit of everything for anyone to enjoy. I would highly recommend reading this book and any others by the author! :)
