🔖 REVIEW BLITZ 🔖 Bottles & Blades by Elise Faber

Bottles & Blades by Elise Faber

Release Date: February 24, 2025
Pages: 307
Genres: Romance, Contemporary, Sports

I fell in love with a billionaire.
I just didn’t know it.

Jean-Michel Dubois is the owner of the professional hockey team, the Oakland Eagles, and established the world-renowned Oak Ridge Vineyards.

And…he’s fallen for me.

Me. The boring woman who spends her time studying, baking cookies, and nannying for an adorable little girl.

A relationship between us makes no sense—I’ve tried to make him see that.

But he’s a successful businessman for a reason.

He's ruthless and goes after what he wants.

And he’s decided…

That’s me.

Not having read any other books by the author before, I didn’t know what to expect. Needless to say, Faber is able to deliver a story that packs a punch right off the bat in Bottle & Blades. This steamy romance will leave you reading nonstop until the very end.

What starts off as a unique encounter between Tiff Hernandez and Jean-Michel Dubois, neither of them expected just how much their lives were about to change forever. Meeting the CEO of Titan Capital and owner of the professional hockey team, the Oakland Eagles, is intimidating for Tiff. But she is intrigued by his persona and attracted to him right away. It’s evident that they both have been through so much already that immediately makes Jean-Michel wanting to be Tiff’s protector. It’s her kindness that wins him over and it’s his ability to stand up for her that makes Tiff fall in love with him. Yet, it’s the same past that has come to haunt them down and they have to overcome those obstacles in order to be together.

All in all, I enjoyed the romance and a hint of suspense in the story that had me at the edge of my seat. This is also an age-gap romance and it was interesting to see the characters navigate that aspect of their relationship. Tiff’s backstory is touching and it shows her resilience for wanting to see world. I would highly recommend checking out the book. I’m intrigued to see where the story leads to the next book in the series!

My Rating:

Meet Elise Faber:

USA TODAY bestselling author, Elise Faber, loves chocolate, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and hockey (the order depending on the day and how well her team—the Sharks!—are playing). She and her husband also play as much hockey as they can squeeze into their schedules, so much so that their typical date night is spent on the ice. Elise changes her hair color more often than some people change their socks, loves sparkly things, and is the mom to two exuberant boys. She lives in Northern California.

🔖 REVIEW BLITZ 🔖 The Big Skate by Elise Faber

The Big Skate by Elise Faber

Release Date: December 26, 2024
Series: Sierra Hockey Book #3
Pages: 261
Genres: Romance, Contemporary, Sports

I’ve sworn off love…until her.
The only problem? She can’t stand me.

Gorgeous, single mom Ivy wants absolutely nothing to do with me.

She thinks I’m a player—and maybe I am.

She thinks I don’t take anything seriously—and maybe I don’t.

She thinks I can never make her happy—but I’ve never been more focused on anything else. Not ever. Not even on hockey, and I live and breathe the sport.

She doesn’t understand that she’s become my reason for existing—

That if there’s any game in my life I’m willing to do anything to win…

It’s claiming her heart as mine.

My Review:

In Faber’s third book in the Sierra Hockey Series, she delivers a steamy and swoon worthy sports romance in The Big Skate.

As the strength coach for the NHL team, the Serra, Ivy Pierce is not only good at her job but she is also surrounded by extremely good looking men. That doesn’t mean that she wants to be in a relationship, on the contrary, Ivy wants doesn’t want to expose her daughter to a man that will ultimately walk away. So she is taken aback when one particular player keeps getting on her nerves, with his banter and handsome self. Knox Addler should be off-limits, he is hockey player who is used to getting what he wants. Yet, he seems to be having eyes for Ivy and that scares her. They both have a lot in common, which gives them the chance to lean on each other when they need it the most. All while developing feelings that she is not ready to give into, only to give Knox more reasons to prove that they are meant to be together.

I throughly enjoyed reading The Big Stake, we have two characters who have been hurt in the past, leading them to avoid any type of commitment. That’s until Knox starts to get closer to Ivy and her daughter, Evie, that he begins to see a future with them. Though he quickly realizes that it breaking Ivy’s barriers won’t be easy, but he is willing to do anything in order to deserve their trust and love. As a single mom, Ivy has done a great job raising and protecting her daughter from any harm. Yet, when Knox comes into the picture she is not sure how Evie is going to react. She soon sees Knox stepping up for them and her feelings for him start to blossom. I absolutely loved seeing Knox connect with Evie, he becomes her protector and has her back. Told in dual POV, this steamy romance will leave you wanting for more. I would highly recommend checking this book, will definitely be reading more from the author in the future. :)

ALL DEBTS MUST BE PAID

Tommy

Seven years ago, I thought I could save Beth, the girl I loved from the monster who was supposed to take care of us. I thought I could keep Beth and all the other kids at St. Jude’s Home for Court Placed Juveniles safe.

I failed. Badly. Now we all have blood on our hands and owe a dangerous man a very dangerous debt. We don’t know when he’ll come calling for payment, but when he does – we pay, or we suffer.

When my turn comes, I’m ready for anything.

Except seeing Beth again.

LOVE IS NEVER FREE

Beth

No one ever tells you that the cost of having your dreams come true is literally every single other part of your life. Yes, I’m a huge pop star these days, but I’m pretty much a mess, too.

I’ve spent my life hiding behind disguises, make-up and costumes, all to protect myself from the kind of pain that comes from revealing your true self to someone.

I did that once. With Tommy. The only person I ever loved. It didn’t turn out so well.

And now, with everything else falling apart around me, I’m suddenly in the backseat of his car.

Being kidnapped.

And the past we’ve both tried to run from is catching up with us.

Contains The Debt: A Prologue and 50,000 more words in the continuation of Tommy and Beth's story.

train wreck
noun

1. A chaotic or disastrous situation.
2. An utter catastrophe or mess.
3. A devastating calamity or source of trouble.
4. Pepper O’Brien.

As the daughter of a famed film producer, Pepper O’Brien is Hollywood royalty.

Also, her life sucks.

Because, unfortunately for her, the old adage is true: money can’t buy everything—including grace, true love, or the ability to not screw up every single opportunity her life has brought her.

After her latest disaster, Pepper moves across the country to start over but, as usual, her life has other plans, namely in the form of Derek Cashette, her former teenage crush and now ridiculously handsome friend of her older brother.

Derek is determined to salvage the train wreck of her life and Pepper’s determined not to let him. Her life is her problem and, dammit, why can’t she be her own hero?

But sometimes fate has other plans. Or maybe it’s hormones. Especially when her rescuer comes with a killer smile, a chest Thor would be jealous of, and a butt that any girl just wants to—
