Olivia squirms. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"I've never known a female to acquiesce that easily without a catch. How about you hit me with it now and get it over with?”

Olivia shrugs. "Fine. I was going to say that I won't run alone, if you promise to go with me."

"No," I say, almost before she's finished her sentence.

"Why not?"

I rap my cane once against the ground. "Well, for starters, despite the fact that there are tortoises that could surpass your sorry excuse for a jog, I'm in no shape to accompany even the most pathetic of runners."

"What a handy skill you have of overloading a sentence with insults," she says as she reaches up to adjust her ponytail. "That must be helpful what with your thriving social life and all."

I thump my cane against the ground again, studying her. "Must be nice, picking on the cripple."

Olivia rolls her eyes. "Please. Your soul's more crippled than your leg."

My Review:

I absolutely love this book so much, I finished it in a day. The overall concept of the book had me wanting for more! When Stephanie Kendrick spends her summer taking a film class at NYU, she wasn't expecting to have Ethan, a rich preppy boy, as her writing partner. They are total opposites, but they somehow get along after telling each other off. Ethan is tired of having his parents on his back all the time after ending his previous relationship, he enrolls in film class just as an excuse to escape from them for the summer. But he wasn't expecting to find himself spending time with Stephanie, the goth-girl. Having no topic to write about, he suggests her to pretend to be his girlfriend for the purposes of the project and to get his parents off his back. All they have to do is pretend that they love each other for a couple of family events and in return Stephanie can stay at his condo rent-free for the rest of the summer. It sounds good to be true, but what happens when they soon stop pretending, what are they going to do then?

I think this book is great, it had a very good start and it had me loving every part of it to the end. Opposites attract would be the better words to describe this book. Although there are a lot of books with the same idea, this book became a page-turner for me. I kept reading it until the very end, and I wasn't disappointed at all. The ending had me laughing and loving those two characters so much, especially Ethan, he is definitely a heartthrob. I recommend everyone to give this book a try, you will not regret it at all.
