My Review:

The Virgin Gift is the second book in Lauren Blakely’s The Gift series. In this new stand-alone, we get to meet Nina and Adam as they take their friendship to a whole new level, one that will certainly change their lives forever.

As a sensual boudoir photographer, Nina is used to capturing her clients’ intimate moments all the time. So it’s no surprise that she often finds herself thinking about what would it be like to experience what she captures. But her lack of experience is getting in the way so she decides to take matters into her own hands and writes down a list. A naughty list of all the things she wants to experience. Yet, is even more surprised when her closest friend and neighbor volunteers to help her explore all her fantasies no string-attached. What it would have been the perfect arrangement ends up leaving her wanting so much more than what they’ve agreed on and she has to find a way to make things work out before it’s too late.

Adam Larkin has been hurt in the past with his previous relationship and has then decided to not have serious relationships. When his condo is getting painted, he decides to stay with his friend and neighbor Nina, and everything is working just fine until he finds her list. A list that he shouldn’t have seen but can’t put down. Adam is shocked and yet intrigued with all of her fantasies that she wants to experience. So it comes to no surprise when he quickly agrees to help her. He has always been attracted to her, but when they cross the line between friendship and something more he starts to fall for his friend. He can no longer see her as just his friend and he has to decide of away to make her his forever.

I love Lauren Blakely’s books, they are all full of depth and chemistry. The Virgin Gift was no different, from the cover to the synopsis, the story had me hooked until the very end. We have this friends-to-lovers story with a sexy twist that had me rooting for the characters. We also get to learn more about Nina as she makes her journey of experimenting and knowing what she wants. While Adam is there to help her, he is kind and supportive. They both truly help each other in the end. Overall, this was a great steamy read no to be missed! I would highly recommend it and any other works by the author. :)

I broke the hold he had on my hip. I spun around and took a few steps backward to the kitchen counter, feeling naughty, daring.

From a few feet away, I stared at my friend with new eyes, drinking in the cut of his jaw, the fire in his eyes, the expanse of his hard chest.

My eyes roamed over him. He was fully dressed, but fully revealed too. The outline of his arousal was visible through his pants. Thick and firm.

My mouth watered as I stared at the shape of it.

But tonight I wanted something else.

Something for me.

I didn’t need to start at the beginning of my list. The first three items set the tone. I’d cross them off as I worked through the others.

I knew where to start.

“Okay, then. Now that we’ve tackled the rules of engagement, I’d like to try number four, please.”
