My Review:

From the cute cover to the story plot, I absolutely had a great time reading Blackmail Boyfriend. It was a book that became a page-turner to me that I could not stop reading it until the very end.

In this particular story, we follow Haley Patterson a high school junior who has always been her brothers' “litter sister,” and that causes a major problem for her since she wants to have fun and go out with guys. But having older brothers who could literally crush anyone that steps closer to her prevents guys from asking her out. When she arrives to school one day, she finds out that the whole school is talking about her and her night with golden boy Bryce Colton, which was all a lie and she intended on finding out why Bryce was spreading rumors about her.

When Bryce tells her that he did indeed slept with a Haley, and it wasn't her. When they see that the real Haley has a boyfriend, and if he finds out that Bryce slept with her he was going to be in trouble, and that is when Haley P. sees the opportunity to blackmail her crush into pretending to be her boyfriend for a few weeks or she is going to tell Haley's boyfriend that Bryce slept with his girlfriend. Bryce has no other choice but to accept, and that is when the story really begins. As the two start to fake dating in front of everyone, soon things start to get real, and the both will have to learn to accept their feelings for each other at the end.

What I enjoyed about the book was how we get to see the characters develop. Haley has always being the baby of the family and her overprotective brothers make things difficult for her when she tries to date. Her love for animals and down to earth personality is what intrigues Bryce. His life in particular has always been about what he has and who his family is that he is not aware of what is happening around him. He is in his little world and he likes to have everything at his beck-and-call. By blackmailing him, Haley brings Bryce out of his comfort zone and soon they are enjoying spending time with each other. This book is definitely about two total opposites coming together as they learn to overcome obstacles in their lives. Although this book is all about Bryce and Haley, we do get to read about their friends' relationship, and the impact that it makes in their relationship. Overall, the book is well-written and funny. The ending could have been better with an epilogue, but it's still a really good book that I highly recommend reading. :)

My Review:

Anya and the Shy Guy was such a page-turner! I've read the last four books in the Backstage Pass Series and they are all unique and refreshing to read. In this particular book, Suze Winegardner does a great job giving us twists and turns that just made the story that much more enjoyable to read.

From the very start, we get to meet Anya Anderson, a teen who has been living in shelters and on the streets for a while. Now that she finally has gotten a job, she is willing to do anything to get her job done, including dig up dirt on any of the Seconds to Juliet band members. Yet when she arrives at one of their concerts things immediately start to change and go downhill once the band's manager tells her that she will be shadowing Will Fray, one of the members of the band who happens to be known as the “shy guys.” With nothing to lose, she is set to find anything that she can on him all to get a nice paycheck in the end. But that all soon changes when she starts to truly see Will for who he is and not just another member of a famous band. The more time they spend together, the more she is willing to risk to be with him.

Will Fray or in this case, Matt Fray, has been pretending to be his famous twin brother for a while after his brother went into rehab. Everything was supposed to work perfectly, since they are after all twins so people won't be able to notice, but the more he is the band, the more he is starting to feel that his secret will come out and it will hurt his brother and family a lot. But just when things were starting to get a bit rocky between him and the band's manager, he is told that Anya is going to be following his every step all to write more about him and to get more publicity for his band. Now he has to find a way to distract her in order to protect his secret, but the more time he spends with her, the more he wants to tell her the truth before it's too late.

I loved Matt's personality, he is funny and down to earth. When he is around his band mates, he wants to reveal the truth of his identity but he is afraid of them hating him after that. He not only has to protect himself while his is on tour, but his family as well and that is what keeps him in check at all times. When Anya arrives, she has a fun personality yet she is determined to get her job done at all costs that make him nervous. I very much enjoyed reading their scenes together. The story overall was entertaining to read, there were a lot of secrets revealed about what got Matt to pretend to be his brother in the first place as well as we get to find out what happens to Anya after everything gets revealed. I liked the paced of the story as well, the epilogue tied everything nicely. I highly recommend reading this series, each book has a great story to tell and this book did not disappoint. :)

My Review:

I am really loving the Backstage Pass Series, they do not disappoint. Daisy and the Front Man is the third book in the series where we meet Daisy Morris and Trevin Jacobs, who are reunited by a leap of faith once again.

When Daisy Morris finds out that she is going to be spending summer with her dad, she is not too thrilled with the idea especially when her dad was supposed to be working for the Seconds to Juliet band that summer as their bodyguard. But what was supposed to turn into a terrible summer for her, became the perfect setting for her revenge. For what everyone did not know was that Trevin completely humiliated her by standing her up for homecoming and now it was payback time. What she was not expecting was to find herself completely falling for the guy that failed her before.
Trevin Jacobs is used to having the attention of a every teenage girl in the world, but when the outspoken Daisy Morris arrives to meet them on tour, he doesn't know what to think of her. He immediately senses the hate radiated from her and he is willing to do anything to change that. When one of his bandmates bets him to make Daisy fall in love with him, he just couldn't say no. He soon finds himself doing a lot of things to get Daisy to like him, never expecting to finding himself in a middle of an understanding between what he did in the past and the girl he unexpectedly has falling in love with.

From the characters to the setting, Rebekah L. Purdy did a great job describing the events that tranpired throughout the book. I liked the overall concept that it fit really well with the characters' personalities. Daisy is outspoken and smart, whereas Trevin can seem to be the tough one, but he is a softy in the inside and that makes the story that much more enjoyable to read. After winning the prize of taking any of the band member to homecoming, Daisy picks Trevin, but on the day she gets a signed picture of him apologizing that he cannot make it to the dance. The press was there to cover the story, but they left with a completely new story after filming Daisy be humiliated in front of all of them. Now after all this time, she has promised to do the impossible to humiliate Trevin just like she did to her. We can all guess her reaction when she finally got to see Trevin only have him not recognize her at all. That made things a lot worse for her, and that's when the story takes off. As the two of them start to get closer, the more she wishes she could stop before it is too late, but a twist in the story makes it impossible for her to stop and for Trevin to actually tell her how he really feels. The ending was my favorite part as it brought everything together very well. Overall, I highly recommend this book, and the entire series. If you love boy bands with handsome band member then this is the book for you. :)
