🔖 REVIEW BLITZ 🔖 The Fake Fiancée Proposition by Vivian Wood

The Fake Fiancée Proposition by Vivian Wood

Release Date: June 28th, 2024
Pages: 500
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

Meet real estate CEO River, the most anti-marriage son of the Billion Dollar Bennett clan. And Pearl, the gorgeous diner waitress that he happens to have a thing for. Pearl is next in line to inherit a huge property... and the crushing debts tied to it. River wants to get close to Pearl’s heart before proposing that he should take her would-be-tax burden off her hands.

When Pearl confesses that all she wants from life is to have a baby, River has a foolish idea. He offers to knock her up in exchange for Pearl pretending to be his new fiancée. Insane? Sure. But it just so happens that he desperately wants to sleep with her.

Pearl is so baby-crazy that she’s willing to do almost anything to be pregnant. Even if it means deceiving everyone they love. They seal their pact with the steamiest, panty-melting, bang-on-the-kitchen-table kind of sex.

River feels he has a surefire scheme. Everything will be fine as long as Pearl never finds out that River targeted her from the get go. Oh, and one more thing... neither of them can fall in love.

My Review:

From the eye-catching cover to the intriguing synopsis, Wood delivers a steamy and heartfelt story in The Fake Fiancee Proposition. This opposites-attract romance will leave you wanting for more!

As the CEO of Bennett-Taylor Real Estate and son of the Billion Dollar Bennett clan, River Taylor has the wealth and status to get just about any woman he could possibly want. But River is not interested in ever getting married, unless it’s to get something that he wants. Enters Pearl Brown, a diner waitress that works at Gem’s Diner and the one person that holds the key to exactly what River wants. He is used to dealing with multi million-dollar deals, and he is very much interested in a huge property to add to their portfolio.

A property that Pearl, his little sister’s friend is going to inherit one day. He just needs to convince her to sell it to him, but to his surprise her family doesn’t want to sell the property. After all, it has been in the family for generations. Yet, when Pearl finds out that her aunt hasn’t kept up with the IRS taxes for the property, she doesn’t know how to help her family. The only thing she knows is that she has always wanted to be a mom and River is willing to help her, if she helps him in return. Little does she know how the true motives behind River’s help will come at a cost… her heart.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Fake Fiancee Proposition, there is instant chemistry between the characters that only grows throughout the book. We get to see both of their families come together as the two main characters navigated their way through their pretend relationship. But as the two start get closer, the harder it becomes to fake any feelings for each other. Pear’s goal is to get pregnant, knowing well that River will not be in the picture and wishing for their relationship to be real. Meanwhile, River wants to help Pearl by giving her what she wants, not realizing the extent of his feelings or how much he was going to hurt Pearl. All in all, if you like a billionaire hero and fake engagements then I would highly recommend checking it out! :)

The Dancer by Vivian Wood

Release Date: May 31st 2021
Pages: 280
Genres: Romance, Contemporary, Dark

Ballet takes everything from you.

I’m no longer a professional ballerina.

No longer a kept woman.

No longer a virgin.

The fact that I still ache for a man who shattered me so easily… there is no getting over that.

I should’ve listened to Calum when he said that he was broken.

Some things, once shattered, cannot be made whole again.

Still, all it takes is a look from him and I start to melt.

When he offers me an even sweeter deal, will I be able to say no?

The Dancer is a contemporary billionaire romance from Wall Street Journal Bestseller Vivian Wood. It's full length and the second of three books in the gritty, raw, passionate Broken Slipper Trilogy.

My Review:

The Dancer by Vivian Wood is the second book in the Broken Slipper Trilogy that’s emotional, steamy and full of twist and turns to keep you wanting for more.

It’s been a month since the events that transpired in The Patron, when Calum decided to brake things off with Kaia for good. She is devastated at how quickly he discarded her by terminating their contract and her contract with the New York Ballet. Determined to not let her feelings for Calum get the best of her, Kaia decides to keep auditioning to other ballet companies in the city. After all, she still needs owes her father money for putting her through the ballet academy. But when she is able to gather the money that she has left, her father surprises her by adding more to that amount, leaving Kaia flabbergasted. Just when she thought she was closer to freedom, she is starting from the beginning but not before she bumps into Calum again. He has no right to be near her after what happened between them, but he isn’t letting go this time around and Kaia is afraid of getting her heart broken again.

Calum might have been blackmailed into ending his contract with Kaia, but he won’t stop until those responsible pay for what they’ve caused. More importantly he is ready to win Kaia back no matter what and he won’t stop until she is his again. But there are new obstacles heading their way threatening to put an end to their relationship. Calum has never felt closer to anyone like he feels for Kaia and everyone can see just how quickly he is falling for her. Yet he has never been in love and he is afraid of losing the one person that understands him the most.

I throughly enjoyed reading The Dancer, it’s bold and steamy! We can see the characters develop in the story, Kaia is becoming more confident and determined. On the other hand, Calum’s wall slowly start to fall as he starts to develop feelings for Kaia. He is overprotective then ever, but he is always looking after her. The interactions between the main characters and Calum’s brother, Lucas, made the story more entertaining. The shocking twist at the end will definitely leave you wanting for more, I cannot wait to read the final book in the trilogy. I would highly recommend checking out The Dancer, it’s steamier than ever! :)

But to my surprise, he makes me an offer I can't refuse.
And now I am staring into his dark blue eyes as I dance for him privately. Trying desperately to remember rule number one of being an exotic dancer.

Don't fall for your customers.

My Review:

The Patron by Vivian Wood is not your typical billionaire romance, it’s dark, steamy and full of secrets to keep you at the edge of your seat until the very end. A promising start to the Broken Slipper Trilogy.

At the beginning of the story we get to meet, Kaia Walker, a ballerina attending classes at the prestigious New York Academy of Ballet. It has taken Kaia’s blood, sweat and tears to get to where she is and getting closer to her goal is what keeps her motivated to keep doing her best. It’s her last month there before officially auditioning for the New York Ballet. Yet, no matter how much she practices, doubts of not being good enough creep into her head, as well as all the expectations that she needs to meet for her dad and that won’t stop until she pays him back for putting her through the ballet academy.

She longs to be free from him and that has led her to work at a less prestigious job at night. No one knows about her job, it’s taboo for a ballerina like herself to work at a strip club, but that’s all she can do to make the amount of money that she needs right away. Until a mysterious billionaire requests a private dance, one that keeps him coming back to her that changes her life forever. He wants to be her patron, to have her at his beck-and-call until she discovers that he is part of the New York Ballet and that he can ruin her career for good. Instead, Calum makes her an offer she can’t refuse and as she learns what’s beneath the facade that he keeps, it makes her want to fix the broken billionaire that she is developing feelings for.

As the CEO of Indica Teach, Calum Fordham has made a considerable amount of money with his tech company. At twenty-nine, he is an ambitious billionaire who is driven by his work, yet he is a dancer at heart. Having being part of the New York Ballet, he knows how to be the best, even though an injury cut his career short. Calum has been through so much growing up and it’s the anger that he has in him that has driven him through life. It’s also the very same anger that has made him unable to be in relationships and that’s how he ends up at Club X. He never expected to meet someone like Kaia there, innocent and with captivating ballerina moves that have him wanting to know more about her. He wants to make her his no matter what. It’s when a turn of events take them by surprise that he has to make a choice, whether to keep Kaia or let her go for good.

I enjoyed The Patron, it’s such a page turner and full of twists. We have two broken individuals brought together by the one thing that brings them life. They have such a great chemistry right from the start and it just keeps evolving the more they get to know each other. There are so many shocking moments and the cliffhanger at the end has me anxiously wanting to read the next book in the trilogy. I would highly recommend this book if you love forbidden romances with ballet in the mix. :)

Release Date: September 15th 2020
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

Forbidden fruit is always the sweetest.

I was born a scoundrel. Destined to a life of poverty, until the royal family saved me. I owe them my life, and I’ll do anything to uphold my duty.

Even when my duty is babysitting Annika, the king’s little sister.

Except it turns out that Nika isn’t the wayward wild child I thought she was. She’s whimsical, stubborn, funny, gorgeous… and completely off limits.

Not only is she my best friend’s kid sister, Nika is a full ten years younger than me. While I was going to university, she was hanging posters of Justin Beiber on her walls and doing geometry homework. Don’t even get me started on the fact that she is a princess and I’m just a commoner.

And when I thought things couldn’t get more awkward? She asks me to be her first. Now every time I think about Annika, I picture her moaning my name.

My duty, my honor, and my sense of what’s right tell me not to look Nika’s way again… But my heart refuses to resist her.

The only question is, once I give in and take what I need... will having Annika just one time be enough?

My Review:

His Forbidden Princess is the third book in the Dirty Royals series, a modern royal romance between a commoner and a rebel princess who are ready to break the rules if it means having a future together.

Erik Moen takes his job seriously, always looking after King Stellan who also happens to be his best friend. But his duty to the crown runs deep, they gave him a life that he wouldn’t otherwise would of had and for that he will be forever indebted to them. Yet no matter how much he wants to stay loyal to Stellan, Erik can’t help to be attracted to Stellan’s younger sister, Annika. She is feisty, stubborn and completely off limits. When he is given the job to babysit the princess, he vows to keep their relationship strictly professional until she asks him to be her first. He tries to resist until things begin to change between them and so does their relationship. No matter how much Erik wants to make things work, he is aware of the differences between them and the fact that they might just not be perfect for each other in the end. It’s when he is about to lose everything that he realizes that fighting for their future might just be worth it after all.

I absolutely loved reading this book, it was a page turner and it was great seeing cameos of previous characters (from the first book in the series). It’s evident from the beginning that Erik and Annika are from two different worlds, but they both face struggles just like anyone else. They comfort one another and as they go of their pasts the closer they grow to each other. Not only do we get to see their own growth, but we also get to know some of the secondary characters as well. The ending was satisfying and sweet. It leaves us off with a hint of what’s to come in the series and I cannot wait to read the next book. I would highly recommend checking out this book if you love a good modern royal romance. :)

My Review:

From the eye-catching cover to the intriguing synopsis, The Wicked Prince had me hooked from beginning to the end. This steamy royal romance will leave you wanting for more.

In the story we get to meet Margot Keane, a New York journalist whose pink hair gives her a rebellious side to her. She is independent, outspoken and highly stubborn. It’s those qualities that manage to catch the attention of a handsome stranger at a venue, they drink and dance the night away. Yet, it’s their instant chemistry that brings them closer and they end up spending the night together. Margot is not afraid of being a little reckless, but she wasn’t expecting to find out that her handsome stranger would turn out to be the Crown Prince of Denmark. They go their separate ways until they are reunited again, this time she will working very closely with the prince. It’s clear that they still like each other, but things quickly take a different turn than she was expecting and Margot will have to decide if pursuing a relationship with Stellan is worth it or not.

Prince Stellan Augustus Love has it all, the looks, wealth and title to get just about any woman he could possibly want. But he can’t stop thinking about Margot and their night together. He knows more than anything that his duty to the crown comes first and can’t be distracted when it comes to the gorgeous journalist. The minute he finds out that Margot will be shadowing him for a piece she’ll be writing for the royal family that he can’t wait to have another night with her. It’s clear that they have feelings for each other, but he starts to wonder if she is ready to give up her old life in order to join his world. He’ll do anything in his power to make her his before it’s too late.

I absolutely loved reading The Wicked Prince, it was sweet, romantic and full of steamy moments between the characters that had me rooting for them until the very end. It’s evident that Stellan and Margot come from two different worlds. While Stellan was raised to one day be King, Margot was the struggling kid who had to grew up fast in order to survive. They both are independent and committed to their jobs. Although Stellan knows that he will be King, he still struggles to keep up with all the responsibilities that come with the role. On the other hand, Margot grew up with nothing and her major struggle is of fitting in within the royal family. As the two go through ups and downs, we get a glimpse of the secondary characters which I loved! Now I did find myself struggling with the ending, thought it was a bit too fast and some things were left unanswered. That’s not to say that the ending was bad, but it was okay. We get a chapter of what’s to come in the next book in the series, which I cannot wait to read. All in all, if you love a royal romance with lots of chemistry than I would highly recommend checking out this book! I cannot wait to read more from the author in the future. :)

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**

Genres: dult, Contemporary, Romance

In order to find love, you must set your heart free.

All her life, Faith has lacked a true, deep connection to someone. Her parents are long buried, her friends are too busy, and all she has is her job in corporate law to make her feel grounded. Each day is like the last with no telling if there will ever be something more for her. When a distant aunt passes away and leaves Faith her land, Faith has to put her empty life on hold and travel across the country to settle the estate.

A West Coast girl used to a fast paced lifestyle, Faith is ready to be entirely unimpressed by what she finds on the Georgia coast. That is, until she meets Alex.

Strong, tall, and decidedly anti-social, Alex is everything that Faith has been dreaming of her whole life. The fact that he scowls as he shows her the wonders of her new land doesn’t bother her… not like seeing him without his shirt does, anyway.

Alex has a lot of ground to cover before he can learn to trust someone again, but Faith is a lovely temptation. Slender, raven-haired, and smart as hell, she calls to him on a primal level… if he can get over the ghosts of his past.

Distrust, uncertainty, fear of change… In order to find their way to each other, they will each have their own demons to overcome.

Alex wasn’t sure if she kissed him or if he kissed her. All he knew was that suddenly his lips were on hers, and they were softer and sweeter than he could have ever dreamed.

He felt her hands on his chest, and somehow his arms were around her waist. They fit perfectly in that deep curve right above her hips. He wasn’t sure, but he thought he felt the tip of her tongue against his. Alex let out a noise in the back of his throat.

She closed her eyes as he began to work the lotion into her back. Alex started at her shoulders and slid a finger underneath the strip of her halter top. He worked his way down, across her shoulder blades. She let out a moan as he hit a tense muscle in her lower back.

Alex paused, and a flicker of embarrassment washed over her. She expected him to stop, but instead he did it again, deeper. She moaned again, and the rest of her body started to respond.

His touch didn’t just release that tight muscle in her back. It started a fire throughout her entire body. Damn, she thought. She could drift away, let this man touch her all over like he was touching her right now.

His thumbs expertly glided across her lower back as he worked out the kinks. Faith’s breasts tightened, and she felt her nipples pebble. She sucked in her breath, head bowed, and could see her nipples as they responded to him.

Alex’s gaze dipped down to Faith’s lips, glazed with a gloss and smelling of Christmas. He wished he’d had the time, the mind-set, to enjoy those lips the first time he’d tasted them. His eyes continued downward to her breasts. From this angle, he could see straight down the button-up gingham shirt to the pink lace bra below. Her cleavage was deep and deliciously tempting, though he was disappointed he couldn’t make out her nipples. When they’d hardened in that little swimsuit, he was so turned on he could almost taste them between his lips.

He was tempted to kiss her to the point it was almost unbearable. To nibble on those lips and run a thumb across her breasts. Hell, I even know what she tastes like. But this time it would be different.

“Alex,” she started, but he couldn’t hold himself back anymore. It took less than a second to close the distance between them. His lips were on hers, exploring. Faith parted her lips farther to welcome his tongue against hers. God, she tastesd sweet.

With one hand, he cupped her chin upward to him. The other pulled her close against him. His hardness slipped with ease between the heat of her soft thighs. Those little shorts really are good for something besides a tease.

Alex needed more, wanted more, and by the way Faith responded, he knew she did, too. He started to walk her backward, through the open bedroom door.

{EXCERPT}

Sean woke up late, aware from the way the sun poured through the window that it was close to mid-day. Sean groaned and checked his phone. Almost eleven.

He hadn’t heard Harper at all. Normally, he was woken up by her grinding of smoothies in the morning for her pre-gym protein. Sean pulled himself out of bed and adjusted his morning erection. Already, dreams of the previous night escaped him, but he knew they were all Harper. They always were.

“Hey,” he said as he opened his bedroom door. She was curled up on the couch. A book rested on her knees.

“Hi,” she said. For once, the smile that spread across her face was easy and natural. It was the first time since they’d moved in together.

“You haven’t eaten?” he asked.

She shook her head. “Not in the mood for a smoothie,” she said. “How about brunch?”
“Okay,” she said.

He made his way to the kitchen. Yesterday, when she asked him to cook for her, it was a sign. That was his way back to her. Sean pulled out the half-dozen eggs from the fridge and the packet of English muffins. He cracked the shells and started to whisk egg yolks with lemon juice in a stainless steel bowl for the hollandaise sauce.

He heated a saucepan with a thin layer of water. As he drizzled in butter and watched the sauce thicken and double in size, he sensed Harper behind him. Afraid to say anything, worried that it might scare her away, he reached for the salt and cayenne. “Are you making eggs benedict?” she asked.

“Yeah.”

“I didn’t know people actually made that.”

He laughed as he started to brown the bacon in a skillet. “Did you think they just appeared?”

“I don’t know!” she said. He handed her two English muffins to toast. “I thought they were really hard. Like, only chefs made them.”

“They’re not hard,” he said. He broke another egg into the water and reduced the heat to a simmer.

“How do you know when they’re done?” she asked. Harper peered into the pan. “Practice,” he said.

“Thanks.”

“About three and a half minutes,” he said. “Watch for the egg white to set but the yolk should still be soft.” He removed one of the eggs with a slotted spoon and let it drain over a paper towel. As he carefully assembled the benedict and spooned the poached egg on top of the bacon, he seasoned both plates with salt and pepper. Finally, with the hollandaise poured over them and a garnish of chopped parsley, he handed Harper her place.

She looked at it like it was a science experiment. Sean could see numbers and calculations flying across her face. “Just try it,” he said gently. “It’s good for you.”

He ushered her towards a seat at the kitchen island and kept an eye on her while he put more bacon into the pan and pulled out the pancake mix. “You’re making more?” she asked, her eyes wide.

“You haven’t had breakfast or lunch, have you?”

She didn’t answer, but when he pushed the freshly cooked bacon onto her plate, she made a face and started blotting at them. “How many calories are in bacon?” she asked. “Does it really matter? Just enjoy it.”

She gave him a look like a surly teenager. He watched her as she nibbled on everything, going at the egg whites with more gusto than anything else. When the first batch of pancakes were done, he started to check on a dry piece with his hands and forked two onto her plate, but Harper shook her head vehemently. “No more,” she said.

He sighed and looked at her plate. For her, she’d ate a decent amount, though it still wasn’t nearly enough to count as sustenance.

“You interested in working out together again?” she asked.

“I don’t know. Maybe,” he said. “It’s Sunday. I thought maybe we could lounge on the couch and watch a movie first. We can decide if we want to work out later.”

“Okay,” she said reluctantly.

“Hey. How about you choose the movie?”

“Really?” she asked, brightening.

“Go on, I’ll clean up.”

Harper rushed to the living room while he rinsed the dishes and loaded the dishwasher. By the time he made it to the living room, she had Mean Girls queued up on Netflix.

“Seriously?” he asked.

“You said I could choose.” She pulled a face that dared him to disagree.

They sat on opposite ends of the couch like armies readying for battle. Eventually, Harper propped her feet up on the couch, taking up two-thirds of it. “You want a foot rub?” Sean asked.

She looked startled, but bit her lip and nodded.

He started at her perfectly white feet, cold to the touch. Sean warmed them, surprised at the softness—especially with all the working out and those insanely high heels she wore. When he worked his way to her bare calves, she didn’t react. The rolled-up boxers she wore as pajama bottoms had hiked up so high that his hands had miles of flesh to explore.
Sean reached her thigh and she squirmed. When he raised his eyes to hers, there was a hunger in there he hadn’t seen in weeks. She lunged at him. Her lips met his as her arms snaked around his neck.

Without thinking, he kissed her back. Harper’s hand twisted around the front of his tee-shirt and she pulled him closer. That kind of desire, that dominance, was new in her. Any other time, he’d despise it, but something about it being her made him harden instantly.

✯BOOK BLITZ:✯ Addiction by Vivian Wood {EXCERPT + GIVEAWAY!}

Addiction by Vivian Wood

Release Date: September 14th 2017 by KDP
Series: Addiction Duet
Pages: 200
Genres: Adult, Romance

It started innocently enough. Beautiful Harper gave Sean those eyes… those eyes that meant, yes, take me. But Harper didn’t know Sean’s secrets… She didn’t know that he liked it rough.

More than rough. He liked to dominate. To punish. To degrade. It was the only way that the black hole in his soul wouldn’t swallow him up.

He would push her a little too far, and she would run. They all ran, eventually.

But that’s not what happened... when he put his hands around her throat and squeezed, Harper moaned. When he told her to stay away, she didn’t listen, misbehaving until she got spanked. When he took out the handcuffs, there was excitement in her eyes, mixed with a little fear.

The doe-eyed redhead liked it. More than that, she wanted it. She said so, time and again.

That’s the thing about sexy strangers, though… you never know what they’re hiding. And Harper is carrying a burden so heavy that even Sean’s secrets pale in comparison.

He raised a brow. “So, you think I’m attractive?”
She couldn’t hold his gaze. Kiss me now, she thought. The timing was perfect. The moonlight, the swings, all of it.
Harper forced her gaze back up and looked at his lips. They were incredibly shaped, the lower lip especially full. She licked hers and thought, for just a moment, to lean in. But she couldn’t.
“Let’s get you home,” he said, and stood up. Disappointed, she took his hand that he offered to help her up.
“Hey,” he said, and leaned down close to her hand. “What’s that?” He traced one of the fresher scars across her knuckles.
“Oh, uh, nothing,” she said. “Don’t worry about it.”
He looked at her, curious. “Boxing class,” she said automatically. It was a lie everyone believed. “Good workout, hell on the hands.”
“A fighter. That’s hot,” he said.
She kept her hands hidden as best she could on the walk back, but every time hers accidentally brushed his, a spark of electricity shot through her.
“I take it you don’t want to come back in to this amazing party,” she said. From the sidewalk in front of her house, it was clear it was still raging.
“Think I’ll pass. I’m up early tomorrow to open the shop.”
“Okay.” Just as she turned to walk away, he grabbed her by the waist and pulled her against him. She couldn’t have stopped him if she wanted to. Not that she wanted to, not in the least. She knew he was built, but was surprised by the incredible strength. The dominance of him.
In her towering wedges, she was the same height as him. As soon as his lips were on hers, she opened her mouth. Greedy, hungry and obedient for anything he wanted.

He pulled away just as suddenly. “’Night, sweetheart,” he said, and stalked off into the dark.
