🌟REVIEW BLITZ:🌟 Finding Alexei by Kendall Ryan

Finding Alexei by Kendall Ryan

Release Date: January 7th 2019
Pages: 300
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

He’s bossy, moody, and overprotective.

He’s also a pro athlete who needs to focus on winning games and staying out of the headlines.

I’m fiercely independent and need a man like I need a second period each month.

So when our worlds collide, I never expected him to be the one to jump in and save me. Especially not when my roommate disappears, leaving me with her baby.

I’m clueless about babies—and it shows. Good thing Alexei isn’t. With six nieces and nephews and an apparent hero complex, the dude is both sexy and more than capable. It’s a combination that makes it easy to forget we’re just playing house.

My Review:

I’m always excited to read any of Kendall Ryan’s books, they are full of swoon worthy characters ready to sweep you off your feet and Finding Alexei did not disappoint at all.

It is outside a topless bar that Alexei sees Ryleigh for the first time. She is arguing with a guy and he feels the need to protect her. Although they’ve never met before, he knows that she is in trouble and offers her a ride home. It’s on the way there that she tells him about her car not being able to work and the fact that she now has to take care of a two-month old baby all by herself. Alexei feels overly protective after hearing her story but gets angry when he sees the conditions that she is living under with the baby. He offers to help her until she can figure out what to do and that’s when they end up as roommates. Having three sisters and six nieces/nephews, Alexei is very good with babies and he immediately forms an attachment to the baby (Ella). But as he starts to spend more time with Ryleigh, Alexei realizes that he can’t let them go and he has to figure out a way to prove to her that he truly wants them in his life before it’s too late.

Ryleigh’s life hasn’t been easy, not having family around and being the only child she is basically on her own. Her life truly changes when her ex-roommate leaves her baby behind for Ryleigh to take care of without any explanation at all. Although she wishes to do something else with her life, working at a topless bar pays well even though she doesn’t like dealing with touchy customers. It was shock when Alexei came to her rescue and an even bigger one when she finds out that he is non other than Alex Ivan, pro football player for the Chicago Hawks. Even though his career screams of wealth, she is not one to like him because of it. On the contrary, his lifestyle makes her uncomfortable and that makes her even more adamant about proving to herself that she doesn’t need his help. But after seeing him with Ella, she quickly gives him and accepts what he has to offer on temporary basis. Their chemistry is off the charts, but Ryleigh knows that she could end up getting hurt if she opens her heart to him.

I truly loved reading this book! Ryan managed to deliver such a swoon worthy hero who will melt your heart and sweep you off your feet right away. Alexei is the typical alpha male who is protective yet a big softy when it comes to those that he loves. Being good with babies gives him extra points with Ryleigh and he is ready to help her out without asking for anything in return. On the other hand, Ryleigh is a strong heroine who is willing to do anything in order to protect her friend’s baby. She knows that until she finds Ella’s mom, she will need to provide for her and she accepts Alexei’s help. They get to know each other better as they share their pasts and future goals. We get to meet other characters as well and understand different points-of-view. All in all, Finding Alexei was such a great read. I do wish the author could have extended the story a bit more, but it all works out at the end with such a great epilogue. I would highly recommend it if you’re looking for a quick and sweet romantic read! :)
