πŸ”– RELEASE BLITZ πŸ”– The Proposal by Adriana Locke {REVIEW}

The Proposal by Adrianna Locke

Release Date: August 14, 2023
Pages: 315
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

Breaking News: Rugby’s bad boy marries his best friend’s little sister.

If Renn Brewer would’ve asked me to marry him, I would’ve said no.

Why?

One, his reputation precedes him. His name is in the headlines at least once a month. Two, he’s not just my brother’s best friend. They’re teammates. And three, I’m in my self-care era.

Unfortunately, a version of me equates self-care with bad choices.

The cocktail in my hand—similar to the one that got me into this situation—is the prettiest shade of pink. It’s almost the same color as the giant rock on my left hand. And instead of discussing an annulment, I’m considering a 90-day marriage of convenience to the man I accidentally married in Las Vegas.
Renn didn’t propose marriage. But he does deliver a proposal I might be unable to turn down.

My Review:

Not having read any other books by Locke before, I didn’t know what to expect before reading The Proposal. Needless to say, this swoon worthy romance didn’t disappoint at all. Definitely a must-read!

At the beginning of the story we get to meet Blakely Evans, it’s the day before her thirtieth birthday and she wants to do one last reckless thing before she gets her life together. Although Blakely’s had a very fulfilling life, filled with adventures and success. There is something that she wants more than anything and that is to be a wife and a mother. She is about to start a new chapter in her life and she wants to start dating with the intention of finding a husband. Little does she knows that her life is about to change forever.

Blakely and her best friend, Ella, were supposed spend her birthday in Vegas, but that quickly changes when Blakely’s brother, Brock and his best friend, Renn show up. Renn might be rugby’s bad boy, but the attraction between them is undeniable. It’s after too many drinks that Blakely wakes up with a ring on her finger, along with a husband whose fame is about to throw them some curveballs along the way. She never intended for her life to change so drastically, but soon finds herself considering a 90-day marriage of convenience with her brother’s best friend.

As rugby’s bad boy, Renn Brewer is used to being in the headlines and having people talk about him all the time. After playing rugby abroad for some time, Renn is finally home having signed with a team that wants him to not get into any sort of trouble or he risks ruining the reputation of the team. So when he is on his way to Vegas to celebrate Blakely’s birthday, everyone warms him to be on his best behavior. But his intentions to make Blakely’s day special completely change them the next morning when they wake up married.

Accidents happen all the time, but the marriage certificate has been signed. His dad is furious and his PR team is ready put out fires, yet Renn is not happy with what he is hearing from his team. He is protective when it comes to Blakely and doesn’t want anything to backfire on her. So he comes up with a new proposal, one that is sure to change the course of their lives once and for all. He just needs to convince her that it could benefit her as well.

I throughly enjoyed reading The Proposal, the characters are relatable and the story is well thought out. Although the characters might life different lives, they have a lot in common which ultimately brings them closer when they have to face the media and their families. The supporting characters bring a lot to the story as well make it that much more enjoyable to read. Renn is a swoon worthy and overly protective husband towards Blakely. On the other hand, there is a lot more to Blakely’s story and we get to see her finally get what she’s always wanted. All in all, if you love a good marriage of convenience romance than I would highly recommend checking out this story. You won’t regret it! :)

Attorney Drew Daniels is more than willing to introduce the beautiful Georgia to her naughtier side. Their weekend together is steamy and romantic . . . and it doesn’t hurt that a rival of Drew’s has his eye on Georgia, too. Stirring the other man’s jealousy is a fun side benefit.

Their tryst should have been just about pleasure, but Drew finds he’s attracted to more than Georgia’s outer beauty and he wants to keep her as his own. When Drew suggests they continue their affair, Georgia is too smitten to say no. Even if her parents expect her to marry her lawyer father’s right-hand man.

Georgia finds herself falling for Drew harder and faster than she could have imagined. Until she discovers he's keeping a secret that has the potential to break her heart.

My Review:

Phillips and Wilde have done it again! As the second book in the Dare Crossover Series, Just A Little Secret is a relatable steamy romance about second chances that will leave you rooting for the characters until the very end.

At the beginning of the story we are introduced to Georgia Brooks, who is putting her degree in nonprofit management to use by working for Future Fast Track. A non-profit dedicated to helping foster kids transition out of the system once they are of age. Not only is she working for a great cause, but Georgia is truly following her passion to help others her way. To the disappointment of her parents who wanted her to follow on the family business path, she finally put her foot down when it came to her career.

Georgia has always been the one to follow the rules, be more cautious and conservative. That is until she meets Drew Daniels at an awards banquet her family is attending. He is bold, daring and she likes that. There is something about him that keeps her drawn to him. Then everything changes when they are at a bachelor auction for the non-profit and her sister ends up bidding for Drew, winning him for her in the process. A weekend with him shouldn’t have been a big deal, until she lets her walls down and sees a potential future with him.

As a successful lawyer, Drew Daniels is competitive by nature, a trait that has helped him a lot in his career. At McKenzie Goodwin, he handles a lot of high-profile mergers and acquisition clients. His job requires him to work long hours and the last thing he wants is to be in a relationship. Drew refuses to go through what he went through with his ex, so he is focusing on improving his career instead. Until he sees the beautiful woman talking to his rival. He is intrigued by her and after getting to know her more, there is a connection that neither of them can deny. No matter how much he wants to pursue her, Drew can’t stop thinking about his previous relationship and what his demanding career could do to their relationship if he gave them a chance.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Just A Little Secret! Phillips and Wilde did a great job with the overall story and the characters. There is an instant chemistry between them and we get to see them open up to each other as well. Georgia truly compliments Drew, she understands him and his career. Even though she wants to make her parents proud, Georgia hesitates to talk to them at first. Then we get to see her shine at the end. They have found each other and now they have to fight for their future. All in all, I would highly recommend checking out this book and the previous book in the series, it will not disappoint! :)

πŸ”– REVIEW BLITZ πŸ”– Sincerely, Your Inconvenient Wife by Julia Wolf

Sincerely, Your Inconvenient Wife by Julia Wolf

Release Date: July 20, 2023
Pages: 375
Genres: Romance, Contemporary

I have this thing about saying ‘yes’. I do it frequently, and with abandon.

Skydiving on a whim? Yes.
A last minute getaway to Ireland? Yes!
Agreeing to a marriage of convenience with sexy and arrogant Luca Rossi for two years? Um…yes?

It should have been a simple arrangement. Luca needs a wife to clean up his image as the new CEO of Rossi Motors, and I need my mother to stop trying to fix me up on terrible dates. In two years, we’ll part amicably, no attachments or hard feelings.

Anything that happens between us will be outside the confines of our arrangement.
And by anything, I mean falling into Luca’s bed. Which I also do frequently and with abandon.

But nothing is ever as simple as it seems. It isn’t long before I fall for my motorcycle-riding, dirty-talking, sexy-as-sin husband.

I know I should be careful. This is just temporary, after all, and Luca and I want completely different futures.

The thing is, when I’m with Luca, all I want to do is say, ‘yes’, no matter how reckless that would be.

My Review:

Wolf delivers a heartwarming and steamy romance in Sincerely, Your Wife, the second book in The Harder They Fall Series. A must-read!

Luca Rossi has it all, money, prestige and wealth to get the attention of just about any woman he could possibly want. But as the new CEO of Rossi Motors, there is a new level of stress coming form the board. They think that being dubbed as “The Playboy CEO” is not good for the company and want Luca to better his image by getting married. Marriage is not something he takes lightly, but he is willing to give it a chance even though becoming the CEO was not his first option. Luckily for Luca, he knows that perfect person to ask to pretend to be his wife. After meeting Saoirse at a party his cousin was throwing at his penthouse. The two seemed to connect right away, but just as things were getting heated between them, they were interrupted and they both went their separate ways. Yet, fate brought them together once again and Luca finds out that Saoirse is the new temp at his company. He can’t stop thinking about their time together and presents her with an arrangement that is going to change their lives forever.

I absolutely loved reading Sincerely, Your Inconvenient Wife! We get to meet Saoirse and Luca, both characters who have an undeniable chemistry from the very beginning. Neither of them expected to see each other again, so they are surprised to find out that Saoirse will be working for his company. The level of proximity between them adds to their attraction towards one another as well. Although they both have very different lives, their mutual agreement changes everything for them. Luca becomes more possessive of Saoire, his feels began to change and he wants to make her his no matter what. Meanwhile, Saoire has always struggled to put down roots, but being with Luca is beginning to give her a chance to explore what she truly wants in her life. Overall, the ending was sweet and I would highly recommend checking out this book. I can’t wait to read more from the author in the future. :)
