I was the bad boy on and off the ice.
I loved it — owned it.
Hockey. Women. Money.
Until she came into the picture.
Now, all I want to do is be better.
I want to prove to myself I don’t have to be the guy everyone thinks I am.
She knocked down the walls I spent my whole life building.
Franny
My last name opened the doors, but proving I was worth the title of TV producer took all of my time.
He walked in with a chip on his shoulder.
I was happy to point out all his flaws.
Falling for him was inevitable.
When scandal hits, no one expected me to stand by his side.
Not even him.
But I’ve learned that you get only one love.
My Review:
At the beginning we are introduced to Frances “Franny” Grant, who has just made the move from New York to Dallas to start a new job. Having come from a legendary family in the sports world, she always had to deal with people assuming that she can get ahead of anyone based on her family’s connections. Her love for creating content grew, especially after completing an internship at her grandfather’s media company. So when Franny is asked to move to Dallas in order to produce her own content, she accepts right away. Yet, Franny quickly realizes that she’s entered a men’s world and they are set in their ways that it’s hard to get them to see her side. But everything changes the minute she sees him again at the season opener’s after party, he doesn’t remember that they’ve met before or that they spend the night together. Franny is attracted to Wilson and wouldn’t mind spending more time with him. After all, she is not looking to start a relationship with anyone. It’s all just supposed to be about having fun together, until she starts to fall for the guy that she promised not to.
As the hockey player for the Dallas Oilers, Brad Wilson has the reputation of being the bad boy, always having women around at his beck and call. His temper is what gets him in trouble, especially when he is trying to protect his team or is provoked. So it’s no surprise when the team’s owner tells Wilson to be on his best behavior as he needs to show the people that he is more than just a bad boy on the ice. Until he sees a beautiful woman at an after party, she takes his breath away and wants to know who she is. Wilson is shocked to find out that they’ve already spent the night together and he is on getting to know Franny Great. But soon finds out that he has met his match with Franny, she is not afraid to ask for what she wants and that is him. Yet, he is afraid of what it’s going to happen to them after he gives in. It would take a turn of events to bring them closer than ever. Closer enough to make Wilson see that he is falling in love with Franny. He is not letting her go without a fight.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Only One Love, it was entertaining and swoon worthy. I loved Franny, she is bold and not afraid to speak her mind. She knows how to stand up for herself and we see that evolve in the book. While she is not looking to start a relationship, Franny still wants to have fun and she thinks that Wilson is right for her. Their chemistry is off the charts from the very start. They tease and flirt with each other non stop. She brings out a different version of him that he soon starts to like. They are similar in many ways, but more so when it come to being in love. They’ve never experience being in love and when they are start to develop feelings for each other, it scares them of what they outcome is going to be. The ending was sweet! It was thoughtful and touching. It made the story that much sweeter. I would highly recommend checking it as well as the rest of the series, you will not regret it. :)

My Rating:
When her nose isn't buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she's in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It's a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn't listen to her...
Thanks for stopping by! 📚
