From international best-selling author, Melanie Summers, comes the second in the irresistibly funny romantic comedy trilogy for fans of both Bridget Jones and The Princess Diaries

When most girls get engaged, at most they face a disapproving mother-in-law, but in Tessa Sharpe’s case, it’s a disapproving nation. No one in Avonia wants the former anti-royal blogger to wed Prince Arthur. The anti-royals haven’t forgiven her for abandoning ship and swimming over to the Prince’s yacht, and the royal watchers won’t ever forget all the horrible things she wrote about their beloved Royal Family.

Up against all odds, Tessa has only six months to prove herself worthy of the title of Princess. Her nasty father-in-law is going to throw every obstacle in her way, including the beautiful, poised, and highly accomplished Lady Doctor Brooke Beddingfield. But Tessa is determined to make this work and keep her fledgling career as a reporter intact. Will Tessa manage to fight her way down the aisle and find her Prince Charming waiting? Or will one of them succumb to mounting pressure and run the other way before they can say I do?

My Review:

Melanie Summers knows how to deliver the perfect romantic comedy, full of wit and charm. The Royal Treatment had me completely hooked and I couldn’t wait to read the rest of the trilogy.

In The Royal Wedding the story picks up right where we left off in the previous book with Tessa getting engaged to Prince Arthur. After meeting under unique circumstances, these enemies found love in each other as the whole kingdom was witnessed to it all. They overcame hurdles at the beginning of their relationship, but now they are ready to get married. But a new set of obstacles have decided to come their way once again. This time, Tessa will have to transform from a struggling reporter to an elegant princess if she wants to survive her new royal life. It would be a transition that will leave her questioning if she is meant to be with Arthur or if she needs to go back to her old life. While Tessa is dealing with the public eye, Arthur has taken a lot of responsibilities and he is willing to protect Tessa no matter what. So when a little lie turns his whole life around, he will have to face the consequences and hope that he doesn’t drive Tessa away for good.

I loved the chemistry between the characters, they compliment each other very well. With the new set of obstacles coming their way, the two most decide of what they really want out of their relationship in order to have a future together. It’s evident from the start that Tessa is still struggling to get the public to accept her as their soon-to-be princess and that has taken a toll on her. She wants to be the perfect princess for Arthur, but she is losing herself in the process. If there is anything I loved about Tessa is her tenacity to succeed and not give up. She is a fighter and that is her strength until the very end. On the other hand, Arthur is still dealing with the loss of his mother and he has to find it in himself to move on from his past in order to create a future with the love of his life. As the two try to find their way back to each other once again, we get to meet other characters as well. We see them interact with friends and the rest of their families while I loved. All in all, the story was full of swoon worthy moments to keep you wanting for more. I would highly recommend it and I cannot wait to read the last book in the trilogy. You will not regret it!
